One of my colleagues tried to get me to read 'em, I have a hard time saying no to pushy Scorps so I tried but couldn't get past the first two chapters. Like, who am I supose to identify with here? The whole book is told from the perspective of the girl! lmao

The excerpts from the book were terrible. The fact that the author says she has a degree in English is shameful, considering the way the book was written. The characters were poorly done, the story line is weak, the script between the characters is a sad, pathetic joke. There's no creative spark in it. I love erotica, but I'm a complete snob when it comes to literature. Don't insult my intelligence with mediocre shit writing. I have no idea how the series made it to any top list. You know it's bad when the author has to steal George Takei's "Oh my!" and then use it far too often.

Unless the screenwriters managed to add content to it, it's going to be a sad flop.

I feel like women or men -the ones in really dull relationships with no imagination or sexual romance- find these types of movies and novels exciting and "good."

I went ahead and read the synopsis. I literally laughed out loud at the ended where he spanks her with a belt and she runs away.
Then I go tell my scorpio about it and that sparks a convo about Dom/sub sex. Go figure :p

I was at a used bookshop for what seemed like an hour crapped in this small and dusty room and no shit this book literally fell of the shelf and at my feet and there was nothing to push it??_.anyways I read it and got caught up in the fantasy this stupid girl was living and realised it was stupid??_

can I just say that the guy who is playing Christian Grey is everything I physically look for in a man, my first boyfriend looks like him 🙂

omg i can resonate to this. lol

I'm a huge SNOB when it comes to literature fictional ROMANCE. I want my characters done RIGHT. So most of the time I have to write it out myself. It's really hard to find that right "niche"... Plus, i hate raunchy writing, too. The "oh my!" is funny.

The authoress does have some really good elements, but I really really hate how she portrays Dakota in the book. So spineless and completely weak in the knees at the sight of that man. Sounds like me when i was a love-struck teenager. lmao.

Jane Austen still tops the romance department. Classy and well done. Although, in retrospect, most women are "idealizing" that kind of love and in reality that's not gonna happen.

I meant Anastasia Steele. Not Dakota.

but hey i love how she "captures" him heart and soul in the book 😆 😄

it's every woman's dream right? hahaha Just like Twilight. Bleh. I dont like triangles though.
