Apparently, very few radio stations play new songs nowadays so we are not aware of new songs that are just as good or even better than the classics.
The following are the awards to be given:
*Best Melody
*Best Lyrics
*Best Story
*Best Music Video
*Most Danceable Song
*Best Over-all Song
The above awards are actually award-categories because for each of them the following specific awards are to be given:
*Judges' Choice
*DXP Choice
*Bunny's Choice
*Unanimous Choice
The judges' choice are to be awarded for the choice of the judges. The DXP choice is to be selected by the DXP community (popular vote). The Bunny's Choice will be selected by yours truly. And in case, the three choices all point to one song, such song will be given the Unanimous Choice Award.
As you can see, there's the so-called Judges' Choice. So, yes, Virginia, I need judges, 5 to be specific. The judges need not comment on the nominations but may simply vote for their choice through PMs. The song that garners the most number of judges' votes shall win the Judges' Choice.
The DXP Community may likewise vote for the DXP Choice. They may also comment on some or all the nominees. In case there is a tie for the judges' choice, the tie-breaker shall be the DXP members. The song which gets more number of votes from the DXP community shall be awarded the Judges' Choice.
Anybody can nominate any song they want for each of the categories. However, the said song must comply with the following requirements:
1. The song must be commercially released between November 1, 2017 and October 31, 2018; OR
2. The song must be posted on Youtube between November 1, 2017 and October 31, 2018.
3. The song must be entirely new. Lyrics, melody, etc.
4. Deadline for nominations shall be on November 30, 2018 at 11:59 PM, Hong Kong Time.

The judges shall be selected in accordance with the following criteria: impartiality, dynamism of musical taste, and comprehensiveness of musical background.
The deadline for submissions of applications shall be on November 20, 2018 at 11:59 PM, Hong Kong Time.
Only 5 of the applicants shall be selected, which shall be announced any time between November 21 and 30. The said judges selected must make their presence felt between December 1 and December 5. In case any of the judges shall fail to appear between the said dates, their position shall be deemed vacant and will be filled up by those in the Wait-List of applicants, who shall also be required to be present between December 1 and December 5.
The judges shall select from among the nominated songs, and must communicate their choices from December 1 until December 15, 2018 at 11:59 PM, Hong Kong Time.
The awards shall be revealed on December 24, 2018.
