Door can be locked from inside, but I've never used it ever, not in this house not anywhere else. So my first thought shaking the handle wasn't that it was locked, but I had to call someone to help me. This also confirms that I DID NOT lock it
Yes, no trouble opening it, if not locked. But it was locked from inside, it's like a privacy lock

same in my country, but I’ve never understood the reason, like if you don’t cover them, the dead persons spirit will move to the mirror or what?

Recently I got antique mirror which I absolutely adore. It is beautiful with ornaments, I would say it's a piece of middle or late 1800's maybe. I love anything antique, especially furniture. So after a few days of having it strange things started happening. 2 cases what I find unsettling. In the early morning like a week ago maybe I wake up to use the restroom, around 4 am and can not open the door, after a minute of dealing with the handle I turn on the light and find the door locked, from inside. It has never happened before, I don't sleep walk and the only doors I ever lock are the front and back ones. Honestly it got me very confused and scared a bit. Couple days later banging on the door wakes me up. I sleep upstairs in one of the bedroom and usually I don't hear knocking if there's no ring, but it was 3 very clear loud knock on my door what literally almost made me jump off the bed. Of course there was nobody outside. Any ideas? or anyone having similar stories concerning anything odd and weird, please share your stories.
In addition I don't feel threatened or anything, actually this is the place I feel safe but now I'm just getting confused
