I knew one in college, she was addicted to her bf :p

I'm serious though. For some reason, she had to cut off her ties with her boyfriend, and oh God.. She was so depressed, her health started failing and she was absent from college., failed exams. Seeing her deteriorating situation, her family had to step down and bring them both together.

Shed always talk about her boyfriend.. Write poems about him and their love.

She also was into boozing for a few days.. Her boyfriend took care of that and she stopped drinking..

Her life is scary if you think about it, but she had a heart of gold.

The rest of them were very balanced and are wise owls. She was very wise and had depth too, but...her actions were more self destructive in material realm of the world.

Pisces and addiction is real thing, we all know that. I know more than 3 pisces who have problem with either alcohol or drugs and one is super close to me. How many addicted pisces do you have in your life? And what can we do (for the close people) to help them?
it's just not a pisces thing, it's a watery thing. but not all watery folks do that.

it takes focus AWAY from the addiction to do something more productive.

I think that is what helped even our pisces uncle, he doesn't have ANY addictions. but he worked the farm inherited by his parents and grandparents before that, and it was his entire life. He did a great job too.

i'd say help them (the ones you know) to have a hobby or something they love to do.

whether that's music, art, and something really fun and creative.

also, the best would be photography if they aren't "daredevil" types. my ex had a lot of fire, so he was very daredevil'ish...meaning he was outdoorsy and full of fire, and life, but the addiction sent him downhill.

if his family had put in a lot of money, my ex. I mean thousands into his hobbies and not into his rehab so much. (I don't think rehab works that much since I've read and seen them actually cheat on their addictions)

then I think it would have been wonderful. but we don't know. that is the fate and destiny.

but there's a lot of pisces that are doing awesome too. they have something productive and what they love.

edit- I have seen water moons do this, so it's not a sun sign thing either.

it seems too generalizing just on sun sign.

but also I think astrologers put too much weight on water signs being addictive.

I've seen a lot of earth suns and earth moons get addictions. ect.

I found it interesting that a Pisces guy i knew went on a music workshop and he said out of the 20 people on it, 17 were Pisces?

Pisces addicted to music....my Sun_Neptune gets that

🙂
Definately true!

Last week I went to the party (organized by a friend of a friend) and in the music zone there were only 4 people dancing. All of them Pisces.

All the other were socializing, having a sophisticated discussion and trying to look respectable.

I found them annoying so enjoyed the dance club.

I worry about my Pisces friend all the time. She is very prone to depression and struggles with drinking. I don't think it's just a Pisces thing, but I see she has a very addictive personality. And she is so intelligent and insightful, like blows my mind smart. I love talking to her, we have some amazing conversations.

But I see her repeating the same things that make her miserable over and over again. Like obsessing over a famous person she could never be with. Why torture yourself like that? He's happily married with kids. I understand a crush, but this is so far beyond that it's unhealthy.

It hurts to me to see her hurting, but I've tried in so many ways to help her. In the end, we can only fix our own lives when we need to. No one can do it for you.
so true.

Currently none-

But in the past, yea- i've been blown off by one in particular on a few occasions because she saw more value in tripping balls in a strangers basement then going to the movies or out to lunch with me.

But what i've learned- It's just better to distance yourself from people who make those kind of choices. It extends your life to a much more detrimental community- full of people who choose to steal, cause harm to other people-to their environments. - It's the type of people they become when they use.

Being empathetic only goes so far- as @liveandlove mentioned- People who make those choices are the only ones capable of making any true change going further- and unless your in a position to actually get them help- i.e family- it's just better to wipe your hands your clean until change is made.

It's been aclaimed that Neptune is the reason why we get this reputation of being an addict.
Oh yeah, since Neptune rules drugs, drinking, smoking, addiction etc.

Yeah but personally speaking I'm not an addict just to dispel that nonsense.

I din't even think so 🙂, do you enjoy drinking alcohol btw?

btw, when you mentioned alcohol, there's nothing wrong with having a drink or two, just moderation.

if you can be responsible and make sure you have only a certain amount (limit yourself) it's not bad.

I've seen lots of people do this.

the alcoholism I was talking about, is extreme though, where they have black outs and get super drunk, beligerient.

I can agree with this. I love music, it's the strongest drug.

I hate that all Pisces are associated with drug or alcohol abuse. I haven't done one drug, and I haven't had a drink for about 10 months or so now. I don't enjoy the feeling and I don't like how a majority of people act when under any kind of influence.

Okay of course not EVERY pisces is an addict. But there is a reason why they are associated with addiction. A lot of posts here are telling you that.

I know quite a few Pisces and not one of them has an addiction, so I cant say Pisces are more prone to it.
This is hilarious "we all know that Pisces and addiction is a real thing"...

Is there a scientific study this assessment is based on or is it just a generalization based on fictitious astrology commentary and a few people one may personally know?

Addiction does not discriminate with race, ethnic background or astrology...

Astrology is just a tool...people take this stuff as the holy frigging grail. My daughters father is an ex addict...guess what? He's a Virgo.

I'm a Pisces, I'm no saint but I'm not an addict...

In fact of the 4 personal Pisces people I know...none of them are addicts.

People who are in pain, have voids, want to escape are addicts...in this day in age, that could be any damn one of us.

Exactly. Thank you, Vixen.

This post just proves that, like every other sign of the zodiac, it'll either be a hit or miss.

We came to conclusion that Nepton rules addictions, alchohol, drugs etc. which makes pisces PRONE to addiction. But not every leo is narcisst and loud and not every gemini is two faced. Thats what we have our birth chart for. Don' take everything personally. After all, astrology isnt science but here we are.

My Pisces sis is a heavy drinker. But that's heavy as in she consumes alcohol every night. She doesn't really get drunk. Just gets her buzz on and calls it a night. But she must ALWAYS have her wine.

It's not what I would classify as an addiction because her habit doesn't cause her any personal problems, so she has it under control.

Whether Pisces or not, you can't help an addict, they can only help themselves. You can support and encourage their efforts to get better, give them validation and such, but that is really about it. Addiction is a problem most people face alone because the problem isn't usually addressed until the addict had destroyed most, if not all beneficial relationships to them.

I'm addicted to the internet. That's about it. Don't think I could survive without my laptop or smart phone. I'm not really in to drinking and I like to think that I'm way too critical of myself to become addicted to any substances. I'm neptune dominant and have sun, moon, and merc in pisces.

I mentioned before that many of the people I see on house arrest are born in december. A lot of those people are on for dui or possession. Nothing to say that they're addicts, but I'm sure some of them are.

Well I have a pisces moon and when my aunt passed away, I took all her prescribed meds to cope with the pain of her loss (she was bipolar, depressed, schizophrenic and had split personality disorder) so her pills were high grade & highly addictive. But I felt a safer alternative would be marijuana (boy was I wrong) the thing about me was I could quit for MONTHS even YEARS but when I relapsed, it was extreme. To a point where I smoked just to get numb, to rest my overactive imagination, just to function. I was dependent, spending my LAST, compromising bill payments, becoming very cranky when I couldn't get my fix.

I realized that addiction is a term for the weak of heart, those who allow the substance to take over them, those who surrender to its effects. People can take drugs and drink in moderation but it truly takes a strong individual to find more suitable ways to feel that euphoria or whatever comes from it.

Addiction runs deeply in my family so not only am I a double water sign, I also was faced with the innate, genetic battle as well... So through meditation, establishing a deep connection with self, and finding new, different outlets and experiences - I was able to overcome it all. It would help if the pisces connected with EARTH SIGNS and AIR SIGNS to heal. Earth signs help them by viewing things objectively and reminding them of their purpose while also helping if need be... and air signs know all the good spots to have a fun time, they're not heavy people so the light interaction can do justice for the depths of the water.

How many addicted pisces do you have in your life?

I know quite a few pisces, myself included and a close relative, but only 2 I can name right now that I would classify as "addicted".

I reckon addiction in pisces would stem from 1) boredom - we are fish and like to move,

2) EMOTIONS - which then leads to addiction/cravings

3) escapism

Pisces are very vulnerable to emotions and can easily be controlled by events and people that causes them to downward spiral. From my personal experience I definitely need a hobby, something to live for to keep myself preoccupied and moving in a positive direction. I have noticed almost ALL have a passion or a 'thing' that they do to keep themselves purposely in the right mind. From endless jokes to sport.

And what can we do (for the close people) to help them?

Try not to tell them how "unhealthy it is" - they probably already know and it will just make them feel worse. The best thing would be to encourage them to find a passion. I'd say a distraction would be your best bet.

Saturn in Pisces is prone to addiction also and not just drugs just over indulging in anything
I'm a Pisces and I also have my Saturn in Pisces.. I use to be bad with cigarettes, sex, and alcohol... But partially my addiction stemmed from wanting to escape from some worldly problems.. I had to grown up fast and boys were my outlet.. Which they eventually led me to drink and smoke ALOT!!!...

I treat addicts 40hrs a week, I see all 12 signs with this shit. Some more often than others of course, but #1 is not Pisces. You'd be surprised.
Thanks for your post. Makes me feel better and sorry at the same time for others who are addicted to drugs. Funny, I looked up Neptune and mine is:

Neptune in Scorpio. Unafraid of the darker side of life, you are attracted to the esoteric and everything mystical or occult. Sexuality and desires are encouraged, and seen as spiritual as well as physical needs to be fulfilled. Neptune placed here has an intuitive understanding of the deeper emotions and tends toward

mediumistic or visionary talent.

Neptune Sextile Pluto. You work with real imagination and understanding in areas of the mind that are the most personal or private -- depth psychology. You are like a midwife of the spirit, assisting at the birth of each individual going through a spiritual or re-birth process. You accept the natural process of birth, spiritual and physical, and have dedicated yourself to helping it along. You would make a great teacher in these areas.

If I start to feel sorry for myself or "lonely/depressed" I talk myself out of it...really, really fast!! I am my own "teacher" 🤗 cyber hugs!

Love,

Eva

It's an escapism, but, not from reality .. rather to reality.

If you are addicted to something, then nobody expects anything from you ... so you can continue doing what you want to do .... escape to the real reality/unplug from the matrix without worries.
You know I ain't even ashamed to say that I'm glad that you can't have any kids. That's a fucked mentality to have for a parent, or any human being in charge of raising a younger generation member,

I'm a Pisces and I agree Pisces can be prone to addictions. Myself have never been addicted to anything or anyone (knock on wood) but I think it's because we tend to want to please everyone, hate to disappoint anyone, look for comfort, are introverts and want everyone to like them because of that we put ourselves last or at least I do 95% of the time. Not to mention I'm married to Scorpio man they are attention seeking and smother you all the time. We are often very sad inside but put on a brave face for the world to see. Pisces people keep our feelings bottled up inside and stress inward we tend to explode at crazy times and moments but it takes a lot to get us to that point.

Yes, horrible indeed

My lovely Pisces friend was at a festival last week for a couple of days...she used cocaine, ecstasy, LSD and ketamine and then came back home to mind her two children 😢

She admits to being fucked up and said as a child her parents were weed addicts and used to leave it on the table for the kids to see. She started to smoke early on and then went onto stronger stuff...

What chance do kids have with messed up parents like this?

my brother in law's sister has pisces moon, but she was a Gemini sun, and we heard before she passed that she was taking ecstacy and drugs, but she had a terrible depression and an illness we weren't aware of.

So...she's your lovely Pisces friend...but in the end you go to "messed up parents like this". But she's lovely, and a friend...right?

I lost count how many times you shared a story about a friend, and I think it was the same Pisces friend in multiple topics on this board...under the guise of feeling for her or understanding her beauty in suffering or empowering her...or any other bullshit you think people won't call out.

When all along, it comes down to you and how you deal with things and look how well you fare compared to others. You use your experience with them as rungs on a ladder towards self-righteousness. Maybe when you achieve that, you won't need to use comparisons to feel high and mighty. You could do it by yourself if you practised the self-love you preach.
