I think I'd like to fish. Primarily Salmon, because I love Salmon.

Alaskan Salmon, Butterfly shrimp, cocktail shrimp and Maine lobster tails and crab meat.
I also like smoked oysters, right out of the can, and clams.

Salmon and Chinese steamed White Rice
Shrimp Chow Mein

Lobster, Filet Mignon, and a large baked potato.

Of course, fish and chips from the galley, (with malt vinegar)
Atlantic Cod, Snapper, Perch and Herring.

Of the larger fish, swordfish, marlin and shark - but I'm a low key type
so...

As for fishing, I'd probably prefer the seafood over freshwater. Of the freshwater,
rainbow trout and big mouth bass. (don't care for catfish)

Fly fishing is something I'd like to try and do. I have two fly rods.

Grew up in New England...the best is just walking out onto the docks and picking out your seafood: lobster, clams, scallops right off the boat...

I would like to try fly fishing...seems you need some rhythm to work that pole🙂

In the north...of course we don't have Salmon but freshwater fishing is big, and everyone likes to fish trout & hornpout. Down here in Florida...it's all about Grouper.

What's weird, my girl's mother lived there, once.
Also, what's strange, for me, anyway, is that I was conceived in Florida and born in Maine. Dad was in the Navy and had been transferred to Maine. Enroute to Maine, my Mother got sick near Washington D.C. Dad took her to Bethesda Naval Hospital, and the Navy announced to her and Dad that I was coming into the world.
It was at Bethesda that they John F. Kennedy's body when he was assassinated in Dallas.
Among the many eyewitness accounts of the assassination, one account revealed that Kennedy's brain was missing.
For those that don't believe, listen to witness Paul K. O'Connor, give his account of what he saw. (it's not gory)

Also, the first Sec. of Defense James V. Forrestal had committed suicide there.

(Not sure why, but "Bethesda Naval" had been renamed Walter Reed)

Anyway, that's what my Dad was engaged in.

I have wondered about all the strange coincidences that have occurred in my life.
Strange as in, not normal and doesn't happen every day.

I've wondered whether there be some connection between these various locations and the activities
and some anomalies activities and events in my own life. Indeed, how I would come to find out and notice
multiple coincidences.

For example, my next door neighbor served aboard the same ship as James Leavelle

James R. Leavelle served aboard the USS Whitney, the same ship as my next door neighbor.
His story about what he saw on Dec. 7, is basically the same as that told to me by my neighbor.
I recall in my research that the ship was moored to the north of the USS Arizona in Pearl Harbor
that day.

http://www.dallasnews.com/news/local-news/20100815-James-Leavelle-retired-Dallas-8083.ece

I don't know ANYONE who has such a series of coincidental connections to people of historical
prominence and notoriety.

As you can see, we are back on the subject of the JFK assassination.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Well, check out the prices of the store you plan to go before you go so you can know how much $ $ you'll need.
Sometimes the prices go up and down on seafood. Shrimp is pretty expensive for me, right now. 😢

PS, Flo,

How I cook my salmon fillet is in a toaster oven.
Note: (Salmon fillets, that I get are 3 fillet per pack from Great American Foods (about $ 12) - each fillet is large enough for about three separate serving portions - keep frozen)
1) thaw the fillet
2) marinate in mayonnaise and lemon juice for about 12 hours in fridge
3) warm oven to 350-400 deg. then cook for approximately 10-12 minutes at which time, use a fork or knife to inspect flakiness of meat, 15 min is usually too long)
Do NOT overcook the salmon. - you want it to be hot but not dried out. That ruins it.
The moisture (water) content left in the fillet should NOT be "flooded" and "soggy"
Moisture, at perfection is about the same amount as the saliva in your mouth.
The meat's texture should feel about the same as the inside, on the side walls, of your mouth.
Texture and moisture, along with the right amount of mayo and fresh squeezed lemon juice, is key.
When it's done right, it's like you died and gone to heaven at that first bite.
Excellent with Chinese take-out steamed white rice (or jasmine rice, if you know how to DIY) and soy sauce.
And a big Russet potato, split with butter.

This is the brand I get, don't know if you can get it where you are. but if so, you can trust this brand, never had trouble.

not into fishing at all.
Nem,

How do you define Fate versus Coincidence?

How do you know when to detect that something stands out of the ordinary??

Perhaps
"Signs" and when there might be something more to it than mere coincidence.

Example, 4 days before I was born, lighting struck the Apollo 12 rocket, twice.

http://www.universetoday.com/98484/this-day-in-space-history-apollo-12-and-sce-to-aux/

My parents only had 1 car, a Gold and black 1967 Pontiac Firebird 400
My maternal grandmother, and aunt, drove out to Maine from the west coast, to be there
when I was born. She owned a Blue 1968 Pontiac Tempest

also, firebird, if you have not already, i would strongly suggest reading Marcus Aurelius "meditations" and to muse upon that a bit.
“Accept the things to which fate binds you, and love the people with whom fate brings you together, but do so with all your heart.”
”• Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

Read that, did you?

Okay, would it be coincidence that you should single out Marcus Aurelius "meditations" when only 8 hours ago (according to dxp's time stamp)
I was having a late night conversation with an old friend and read that quote to him over the phone, only about 5 hours before your reply, which
I now quote?

Nem, think about that Gold Firebird sports car: what is the Firebird? It's synonymous with the Phoenix. What does the Phoenix represent? "Rebirth"
Now, pair that fact with the fact that I am a Scorpio, and what are Scorpio's attributes? Life, death and rebirth.
Though I don't believe in reincarnation, there's this business of Ellsworth, Maine, then my real name, the Firebird, Elijah,
Chariots Of Fire and John the Baptist, the two witnesses. and...... in very a small window of time, the probabilities of lightning striking twice.

Note to "Piper":
Remember when I told you last night that I wasn't sure but thought Marcus Aurelius was a Roman Emperor?
At the time, I was reading a few quotes off while on the subject of fate, I didn't make any big deal about Marcus Aurelius, but
discussed it quite calmly as I would when making an observation.
That being said, Nem's reply, which I am presently addressing is one of those examples when something happens or is said
some time in the past, only for it to resurface again. Is it coincidence that Nem should pick out Marcus Aurelius? Or was it fate
that she should do so, not knowing of our conversation, nor yet "believe in higher power, or it´s guidance and/or benevolent
steerings or interventions" even going so far as to ask "firebird, have you seen the movie 23 with jim carey? watch it. "?

Piper, pay attention to Jim's character's behavior, at the beginning.

Know anyone like that? Who's name adds up to 66?
6 divided 6 = "ONE" And the vowels of my name? 6, 6 and 6??

"Enigma Machine" adds up to 66

it starts at page 12 with his first book (chapter) .....

i´d read the introduction after completion - i find blurbs and introductions and prologues generally boring and sometimes off-putting.
Thank you for the link, Nem.
Though you believe it not, the spirit realm appears to have communicated through you and you knew it not.

As rule, I do live in the present. I had NEVER been interested in astrology or numerology until 2011, when I joined this forum.
My interests are and has always been on the investigative level and not the practitioner's level as far as those two topics are concerned.

As for "the number 23" film, I am not "paranoid", as you might be thinking. But attentive as any good detective would need to be.

For the record, to some extent, everyone has some amount of paranoia, skepticism and cynicism. Such are natural and often are built-in
self-defense mechanisms not unlike "gut instincts". However, they can over-reach, and become unhealthy attributes to a person's psyche.
And such would be true if these instances, which I am aware of, were isolated. But they are not.

I don't know exactly what they mean, as yet, and I may never know what they mean. I just know they are there.

Look forward to hearing what you have to share.
Came across the word "Syncronicity", the other day.
I think it's something Carl Jung theorized. Not sure, at the moment.

Coincidence
Chance
Destiny
Syncronicity
