depends on what kind of day i been having...today was my first day off from work in a long time and i've been working a lot more than usual (took a promotion at work)...so i used my day off by putting my brain in time-out, drinking a lot of beer, eating a lot, calming my nerves and taking it very easy...i'm a high-strung pisces, so some days i just like to use as chill time...and tomorrow will turn out great because of it lol...ya'll should try it =)

i'm not sure how i even really feel lol...it's kind of nice once in a while having the burden of feeling everything lifted for a little while...

Marijuana makes me paranoid

sometimes it does me that way too...but not usually, i'm natrually very moody though, so maybe that has something to do with it (it mostly happens when we get some bullshit weed lol) but if i've had a very stressful day, it works wonders...terrible for my adhd though...

I agree with M Lady, at the end we have to put with ourselves. I know a lot of guys that love marijuana and feel relaxed. I say guys, because with girls, I find, marijuana has a different effect.

My questions is: Do you need a drug to make you feel relaxed? I think there is something seriously wrong there if one can't relax without any substances.

Jack, I am curious as to why people take marijuana. Does one need to smoke in order to laugh?!?!?! Or in order to relax and chill—!!!

I have smoked and I found that I was depressed. I was always thinking, and it wasn't all happy thoughts. So for me, marijuana definitely was not good. Neither is alcohol.

But at the end of the day, we are all different so I [try] to understand that we are all affected in different ways. BUT I don't agree that we need drugs and alcohol in order to relax and to laugh and to chill. 🙂

Zlatina .. I think the understanding problem here is with the word "need" .. it is apparent that many people confuse need with wants.

For example: I don't need chocolate, I don't need wine, I don't need my dogs, I don't need cheese, I don't need marijuana ..

.. however, I love all of those and I want to do them.

Does a person need pot to relax? Of course not.

Marijuana is a social drug, and is there to just enjoy. It's not intended to be in control of the self. Many people have this mis-conception about weed.

Nope, one doesn't need this any more than you need a warm bubble bath, but, you want one because you like it.

P-Angel, I understand all of this.

Food is food, we need it to survive. We don't need drugs and alcohol to survive.

We don't need drugs for ANY reason. I find all of the marijuana users smoke because "I want to relax, I want to just chill, I want to forget about my problems."

I just don't agree that one "needs" marijuana in any way. If they do, then they are dependent on the drug. Don't you agree?!

Why does one smoke marijuana? What is the "need" for it? You will most likely answer the same way everyone else does. It's the same reason why one drinks.

I've been there and I've tried that and I find that there is something wrong with us if we "need" drugs and alcohol.

Marijuana has become a social drug because everyone smokes it and this makes it OK, hence the name 'social drug'. I do believe that it does have control over the self. It does have addictive traits, otherwise why would one continuously "need" it?

When I was asking "Do you need a drug to make you happy, relaxed, etc" the questions were meant for those who smoke marijuana. I did not ask out of lack of knowledge of the drug. I am asking everyone that smokes marijuana.

What exactly do you like about the drug and its effects on you that you "need" it? Once intoxicated you are no longer sober and rational. Is that what you are looking for? Is that what you "need"? An escape from the self perhaps?!

I just don't agree with you, P-Angel. I don't agree that you "need" it at all. If you "need" marijuana, I believe, you are looking/searching for something else in your life, but you can't find it so instead you intoxicate yourself to substitute what you can't find/have.

Zlatina .. what I said shot straight over your head, you were completely oblivious to it because if you did actually grasp what I was saying, you wouldn't have exaggerated the word "need", by using it like 6 or 7 times, in quotes .. furthermore .. when you said ..

So much for weed burning brain cells since I've been smoking longer than you've been alive and yet .. YET .. I understand the difference between the two words .. want & need .. also, when someone tells me they do it because they want to, I comprehend that as a "want", and not a "need", lol

I used to smoke dope myself years ago and several of my friends still do. I've found that it affects people in different ways. Personally I found it made me paranoid and unbelievably lazy, best thing I ever did was quit.

2 of my good friends smoke it almost every day, both unfortunately have suffered from similar bouts of paranoia (the classic being stoned at a party and thinking everyone is "talking about them") but no-one could call either of them lazy. One in particular currently holds down 3 jobs and even on her days off still manages to fill her day with activities.

At the end of the day it's the choice of the individual. I chose to stop smoking it, while others I know chose to continue. To each their own.

It doesn't bother me because alcoholism in my opinion is much worse. With drink some people are more likely to become aggressive, whereas people who are stoned from my experience are more likely to either fall asleep, collapse into a fit of giggles or head for the kitchen!
