Think of it as a spectrum. He falls on the end of Taurus and beginning of Gemini, so it's like he's evolving into a Gemini, displaying more Gemini traits. Same way you can get uber-sensitive Gemini/Cancer cuspers because it's like they're evolving into a Crab.

The way he responses currently is a very bad sign especially if he used to be more responsive and initiative at some point. Not sure if elder people in general don't text as much.. I personally think they have more time to? But yeah in that dynamic it's the Aqua who ends up more heads over heels than the sloth Taurus. For her own good...
