"Best way to get over someone is getting under someone"
Realize that there's more people out there, it might not feel the same way, but you can't bring your baggage to every new relationship, you'll be destroying the thing you want yourself. Love yourself, see the good in yourself, tell yourself you're not perfect but I still love you. Drink. Have good time with friends. Work out. Travel.
Listen to music.
Edit: And talk about it. Don't keep it in. Let out your feelings. Tell friends. Reconnect with others. You are not alone.
I say cry it out, mope, feel depressed, lonely whatever..eventually you will feel better, learn and move on..memories never leave, but people do..and i would not get involved with someone else because you will bring your problems into the new reationship unless you have a strong mentality..then go for it!
cry for a day or so then move on. occasionally i will think of them, unless that bridge gets burned then it's slam and nail that door shut. yes i had to do that last year and i'm better off for it.
I withdraw into myself. I'll throw myself into things to keep my mind occupied, activities, study something or read books. I don't confide in people so I'll write things down to get it off my chest. I'll work on me, rather than mope about feeling sorry for myself.
I typically create space and will go NC if the other person ended it. I'll usually go out with friends and focus on hobbies, though it's possible I'll meet someone new soon after. I generally give some time in between though before I start dating a new person.
