there's never any point in arguing with someone who thinks they're completely and utterly right. if you don't agree you're obviously uneducated and obviously haven't even managed to get your GED let alone read a book... being unable to open yourself up to being wrong never allows you to have a stimulating conversation with people. nor does it allow you to really "evolve" and truly understand what you're talking about.

anyway, ian, Uganda was my guess as well and the last book i read was 1491...

^^^^and that's a sign that there's no need to talk intelligently anymore. this is gonna be fun....

1491 eh? then you have no problem imagining the frustration of the first dude who dared to believe the earth was round as he sat amongst a group of slack jawed sailors?

he says, there can't possibly be an end to the horizon because if there was, all the water would fall off of a cliff and it wouldn't be recycled back onto the earth because gravity hasn't been invented yet 😛

one says, what's a recycle? you heretic! "gubnah! e's uh 'eretic!"

another says yes, yes you're right. i fancy myself and intellectual too. let's wait for the invention of gravity to prove it.

and the rest shake their heads..."gravity no gravity, the world be's flat i tells ya...arrrrrrrrrgh! scurvy and dysentery....arrrrrrrrgh!"

--

being right...it's recommended by 1 out of 5 americans.

--

maybe i should wear a scarlet R on my chest? with really cool red tights...and a cape...and a sword...and a pistol for dueling? i always wanted to dress like a musketeer.

--

anyway, what were you going on about?

oh united states (U-S-A--IS--A-O-K), united kingdom, united arab emirates, urkaine, uzbekistan...didn't even catch the radar eh? i like how uganda's the default now. "we're going with uganda for the win john!"

hmm...now i'm wondering, how many of you are wondering what uganda has to do with anything. HA! it's a world of wonder, merriment and flat surfaces.

sorry but didn't didn't realize you wanted a list... plus i think if i did anyway, you would just say what you said to ian. also, the widely held belief that men like christopher columbus thought the world was flat is false. even aristotle taught that the world was spherical. there are a few books out there that have long dismissed this theory.

i guess i understand that someone indeed must be the first person to be right. Usually though they have a significant amount of hard evidence to help support such stances. anyway, to believe that blacks can't be just as hateful as whites is ridiculous. racism is a word that only helps to reflect a hateful and ignorant belief some sort of superiority over another. the words people use is only a small portion of what can make them a racist, it's more of what they do and how the treat others. anyway, this is getting kind of... stupid

@MsPisces - OMG! did you take the same race relations course? the one with the blonde chick with the cool hair? didn't you hate that guy that sat way in the back who kept coughing? boy was he annoying!

@cancergem - try reading the entire thread chicky. it's actually kinda sad because i see glimpses of light in you (are you wearing sequins) and had you taken the time to actually read what was written, you'd realize that we are no in disagreement and the argument is over the proper use of terminology not who hates better. damn shame some of you fail to see that but MsPisces has restored my faith in internet humanity cause she like reads and shit.

@prince, go back to mount olympus. i've decided to no longer worship you as my personal God because you don't read either.

in all seriousity, those of you who are arguing the alternate view, it's kinda sad. i mean, it's like trying to convince SOME folk after 9-11 that all muslims aren't terrorists. just because you believe it to be so, doesn't make it the reality. but whatever makes ya feel better.

"at current, minorities can't be racist."

i am still disagreeing with you...

and i did read it, on one hand you say that you can't choose a meaning yet you still argued why blacks can't be racist based on one particular definition of the word racism. in this country minorities still can be racist, the do it amongst themselves and this is taking whites out of the picture.

and cancergem, words have power and meaning. manipulating those meanings due to a lack of understanding isn't right.

it pisses me off that for SOME minorities, any time a white person does something they don't like, that white person is racist. just because someone disagrees or happens to have white skin that doesn't make them racist.

a white guy with a bald head isn't a neo-nazi. he isn't a skin head. but far too many of us make that correlation because it suits our warped agenda.

if you could grasp the bigger point, then maybe you'd actually be able to read and understand rather than focus on the fact that black folk hate too.

hell not all skinheads are racist either, i've heard white people who weren't actual racist say the "n" word or something else that was somewhat derogatory and i've sadly experienced white people who really were racist and decided it would be nice to keep angrily yelling nigger in my face while i walked down the street. yes, i'll will say i did focus on certain points that you were making which did really make it harder to see the bigger picture.
