How high are your expectations when finding love?

Do you settle for someone who doesn't fit your criteria just to be with someone or are you picky and expect to find the best partner out there?

My personal experience is that I used to settle for anyone because I thought the perfect man didn't exist, until I met my boyfriend. 😍 I do argue with him sometimes but he has all the qualities I was looking for in a man. And now that I met him I feel like my expectations will now remain HIGH. I just can't settle for less anymore. I'm hoping to be with him forever but if anything bad happened I could not see myself with an average or mediocre man. I love the fact that he's still romantic after almost a year with me and I feel like no other guy will treat me the same. I know it's hard to find true love but would you rather lower your expectations or remain single until you find that special someone?

I have a cat that loves me.

For me, I'd probably date but to be committed wait for that special someone.

What's "above average" about him?

I like realistic love and I fall easily when the person is sweet, caring, masculine and well spoken.

A bit of both.

Would've dismissed him as relationship potential cause he didn't check all the boxes. But I was also seeing someone who did check every box but I still found him lacking. So that comparison really opened my eyes.

The criteria list is bs, honestly. If its right, its right.

I have no expectations of anyone... not even with my paycheck. I always have a parachute ready. It's how I live. It has served me well.

And, my past loves, boyfriends, my husband, can feel it on me. They acknowledge and confirm they know I will dip, without me having to say a word.

Love is easy. Relationships are hard. I'm lazy in love. I'm so lazy, I tried to keep men in the honeymoon, noncommitment stage as long as I could. It's the prettiest part.
