It's true. Sag lack empathy. My friends son died while serving in Iraq. Everyone was emotional except for the Sag. I dealt with Sags before. No matter if it's our troops dying to serve or the neighbor across the street who died in car accident, you can always count on a sag for not caring.

This is true. If I lost control of my car and had to choose between running over an old lady or a dog, I would do the old lady.

I have just met another sag woman. And she does come off as an me me me person, kinda shallow at times, and like she don't give a fuck about much. I don't think it has anything to do with us not caring. Some people just don't know how to deal with death well. I never knew what to say or how to comfort someone during that time, until my nephew died.

I basically agree with what Dark Fire said on the first page.

We instinctively know the truth of all life and death. We have accepted that it happens and this brings us peace...you mistake it for lack of empathy or sympathy. Did you ever think to look at it as a strength instead of a weakness? No, because we're not acting like you think we should. The really sad part is we extend you and others the fucking courtesy to handle shit how YOU SEE FIT without criticism or judgement, which you'd think would be the last thing on anyone's damn mind during the loss of life. Smfh

My words indicate another truth about us. If we react, it is not to death itself. It is to death being caused by injustice. That's why we grieve over animals. If someone decides to sign up for the military, we assume they know what that implies...that they could get killed. While we care about their loss, we feel that they accepted that possible fate when they signed up.

What really bothers me is the animal reference. Animals are defenseless in the power of human beings. They dont do anything at all. What ironic is that we send our sons in daughters into harms way over blind fear and hatred in order to kill other defenseless human beings who are trying ti defend themselves against their dictators who we've actually supported and supplied at some point and then our soldiers get killed by those same weapons...and yes that does cause a stir. I feel sorry for their deaths but I'm pissed at why.

OP, your comments are some of the most ignorant I've ever read on this thread. I have particularly strong feelings about this, as I just yesterday was involved in a very heated argument with a family member that ended fairly badly. The day before, I received news of a close family friend passing away. To just make outlandish claims about what we feel, how we feel it, and to actually go on the offensive and say "we don't care" and that we would "spit on a soldier's gave" is just insane. You sound like a child, and are acting like one.

I understand that the event is tragic, and sad. It's horrible that this is how he passed away. But just because someone does not show their emotion at that exact moment, hardly means that they aren't feeling it. How can you even make such a statement? It's not logically sound, nor does it make any sense if you've actually taken the time in your life to understand how different people process things.

I am the same exact way...I do not show my emotions unless they have completely overwhelmed me. Which is almost never. I deal with them in private, where they don't affect anyone or anything else. In public, I keep my head and try to deal with the situation rationally. We naturally try to see the positive things in life, and more to the point, we are extremely rational. Just because we aren't emotional train wrecks, does not make us somehow morally inferior to yourself or other people that feel the need to express themselves in public.

You need to seriously re-think your statements.
