Will my Sagittarius Ex come back?

I have been dating a Sagittarius born December 21, 1992 for two years now. We were really close and even lived together in Sweden. However, I had to move back to the USA and long distance became really complicated because he was focusing way too much on his job. I became negative because I was feeling lonely in the relationship ( I am a libra September 24). I asked him to take a two month break to re-evaluate the relationship and see if he really wants to be with me.

About 3 weeks in, I caved and I texted him that I missed him. He was extremely cold back to me and said he doesn't want to talk to me until the two month period is up in order to avoid "saying anything that cannot be taken back". He also said he has been enjoying his life a lot and has been really happy focusing on himself. He has not contacted me since and I have not talked to him either.

I am now worried he has lost all interest in me and that when our "break" ends he will just end up leaving me. What do you guys think? Also, since he is born on a cusp he exhibits some Capricorn qualities as well.

Do you guys have any advice on how I can help him decide to stay with me? Did I make a huge mistake? Is there any hope for us?
