I am going to take a nap. Then I plan to go look at motorcycles. I may or may not be able to reply to this response until later. Be advised that my last reply is NOT a response your reply. It is simply following up on what I said to star. I had not seen gem9s comments on this subject anywhere other than in THIS thread. So, just wait for my pending reply.

Okay, thanks. I'm going out in a bit to celebrate my mother's birthday so I won't be around until much later on. Thank you for letting me know, I look forward to it. I really do feel choked about how I came off before and I am sorry. I like keeping things lighthearted and I often find myself saying "I didn't mean it that way". I still feel like an ass for asking if Rabbit was a robot, he most definitely isn't and I didn't even realize it was him, I was so used to his rabbit picture with the pincers. Both of you are some of my favourite posters here.

Im gonna wait for his response as well. I was thinking the same thing, with him stating he's none religious, yet he speaks on behalf of Christianity, which is a religion.

Does a stop sign judge people? Not at all.
Do people judge a stop sign? Many do. And they disobey and ignore the sign.
What can happen? Accidents. Happens all the time.

Same is true for the commandments. They were written and given for protection, for instruction in the path of a happy life. But not many will hear it. As it is written, break one, you have broken them all. For all of us have fallen short of the glory of God. There is not a single one of us good, no, not even one, and our righteousness, self-proclaimed, or proclaimed by others, are as filthy rags, in the sight of the Almighty....

Ok, now you're just being cheeky. 😛

Not so. Nevertheless, I expressed my thoughts, and because you don't like the way I expressed
my opinion, you call me cheeky. That's rich.

You claimed you were not religious, though. Which is why the mentioning of Jesus in your posts is going over my head. I do not mean to offend, I apologize if I did. I am known to be rather blunt, but well meaning. Although those close to me say I can be brutal, not blunt. 😢

Maybe this is some abstract concept way of discussing the topic, I mean people think Taureans can be dumb, maybe this is what they mean. I am very straightforward and don't do abstract. Throw me a bone here lol.

I do not view God in "Religious" terms. Do you view your father through a "religion"?
I try to view the Almighty Father as one would view a personal "Relationship", rather than through "religion". What I have written before in my own words are based on what the Lord taught.
I believe in Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. I slip, I fall, I get up and keep goin'.
I don't claim to be perfect, never did. Nevertheless, I strive to learn from my mistakes and improve
myself as best I can that I may become perfect in His sight. But the only way I can do this is
to read and study the Word of God, the Bible which is my roadmap or my owner's manual and letters,
if you will, written and sent to me from the Everlasting Father.

Genesis 22

22 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.

6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

Worthy Is The Lamb! Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty! 🙂

If you wanted to hear my thoughts, I must say that the actor, Jim Caviezel, who played
Jesus in Mel Gibson's Passion Of The Christ echoes my thoughts very, VERY accurately.
I cannot begin to tell you how close his words reflect mine.
Everyone on this site are invited to hear his testimony of faith and experience while playing
the part.

Mr.Firebird,

Well said to all of this. I do really like those biblical verses, videos and testimony - these might too deep for a fool. But even the wisest ones lost its wisdom sometimes..and it's too difficult.

I'm also in the forum of atheist vs. christian - and most people don't have a relationship with God.
and that's heartbreaking. Let the fool do all the madness and let the righteous still honoring God.
Everyone has a reward. the body will die. The soul has a place to live - whether hell or heaven.
Everyone fall short to the glory of God - here's Jesus for our sake.Without Jesus No one can be save.
We are as filthy as rags - true indeed.

Psalm 14:1-3
14 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

1 Corinthians 3:17-20

17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

Q: Why is the wisdom of this world, vain?
A: Are we not all destined to die?
When we die, we pass from this life into the next. All our carnal possessions, wealth, power, families, friends, even our bodies, are left behind.

btw, I am not Catholic. Nor any other religious denomination.
I'm just me. Searching for the Truth, digging deeper and deeper, learning something new, every day.

The sad part about threads like this, most people who have read this thread will have moved on
to other topics. Some may lurk, but for whatever reason, remain silent like we all often do.
But those who have "shrugged" and moved on from this topic, may have missed some of those
key points that may prompt them to pause and consider. Of course, it is possible, those who
have moved on, would not listen, anyway.

But that's ok. For some, a seed has been planted. For another, that seed is watered, and yet
another, the branches are pruned, and yet for another, the flower begins to bloom or else, the
fruit begins to ripen, and for another, in their fullness, the harvest.
The key thing to remember, here, is that these things ought to be willingly contemplated and meditated upon for the teaching and edification and nurturing, of the soul, and by such means, that soul grows and matures.
We must ask ourselves. What does this or that mean? Is my understanding really correct? Could I,
in fact, be wrong?
For some, grasping these things take time, for others, not as much time.

What is the Heavenly Father, like? What is Jesus like? He is the Master Potter. The Everlasting
Father is the potter, and we are the clay. For those who don't know, green clay which has not been fired, is pliable and workable and patiently worked and formed. Then it is fired in the kiln. Once the piece is fired, it can no longer be reshaped, nor crushed and reused. It is finished.
Such is life when we endure the trials and tribulations. The forming, the shaping, the uplifting
and expanding and growing by yielding and absorbing The Lord's Living Water, according to the will of Master's Hand.
Watch this clip, and see how I see a Loving Father, even God, raises His children. From a lump of
clay into a chosen vessel, pleasing as the apple of his eye.

lol. I'm christian. Not a catholic.Though, I still have lots of friends who are catholic.Doesn't matter.

They are human. What I hate most are people who are sinking into addiction and so proud of it and saying

it's their freedom to do what they want - I call it's *slavery*.

"I think— free is a matter of opinion, as is enslaved. Being "enslaved" does not necessarily make one unhappy. Whether they are "enslaved" or truly free doesn't matter. Only that they're content with the situation they're in. And aside from that, someone that is obsessed with the ideal of freedom enough to say something like that is probably enslaved to chasing the ideal, and so isn't even free himself."

Well thank you for clarifying, MrFirebird. I suppose I figured that when somebody talks about Jesus or God, they are automatically Christian or religious somehow. I admit I am still a little bit confused by it, but that's something I can eventually figure out on my own. I have been told you don't have to subscribe to any religion in order to accept Jesus into your life, and I think that is wonderful. I definitely do have some morals that would be in alignment with certain Christian morals, like cheating and I don't agree with pornography, in fact I hate it... and it doesn't help that so many people will either put you down as insecure or "brainwashed" Christian, like there is no middle ground, as though hello, it's toxic, period. I won't tell others how to live their lives, but in mine, I have boundaries I can't have crossed if I am to be in a relationship, I believe in mental fidelity. I do not look, and people can tell me I am full of shit all they want because they can't believe in such an anomaly, but that is their problem. Unfortunately it doesn't help those who took the courage to speak out about it and ask for help only to be told they're ridiculous because that is what all guys do and if he says he isn't doing it, he's a liar, so get over it.

I despise "get over it".

So they waited until the last book to describe Jesus? Why don't any of those images you posted look like Revelation 1:14-15 description— Don't answer, its a rhetorical question......."Walk by faith, and not by sight". If you have a relationship with God and God is the Truth, seek Him for wisdom. I don't believe that everything He wants us to know is in the bible. Knowledge is limitless and the bible is limited. Have a good day MrFirebird 🙂 I like your passion for righteousness.

Why wait til the last book? Because skin color is an endlessly frivolous and moot point.
We ought not concern ourselves if he was red, yellow, black and white. But WHO was Jesus and WHO is
He.

The Bible, the physical book, itself full of pages filled with words, is limited as paper and leather
ages and decays, like everything else. BUT....
The Bible is not limited. For it is God's Word. And if the Word is Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End from everlasting to everlasting. Then His Word, which are written on pages of the heart, is certainly NOT limited.

Some say it's a good book full of morals good teachings how to live. Yes, it is that, but is so much more. I have personally read many books. No book is like the Bible. The Bible LIVES!
It's Words are a Living Testimony. Every time I read it, I read something new. Indeed, not everything is strictly found in the Bible. But the critical essentials are surely there as God had intended.
God's Word doesn't change, but our understanding can change, if only we listen.

And Who is He? He is I AM.

Again, I say, that what the color of Jesus' skin was, doesn't matter and should not matter. For He died for ALL of us and all who ever lived. He died for our sins. We are all guilty of sin. Sins against God, but God's Love for us is far greater than His righteous hatred for the sins and wicked deeds we commit. God loves the sinner, but He hates the sin. Notice the distinction?

Would heaven be heaven, a place of perfect peace, joy and contentment, if sins were allowed to continue in it? Of course not. It would be like finding the fountain of youth, here on earth, but imprisoned to ever deepening chaos, war, destruction and utter hopeless despair. Logically, this would be true hell on earth. Seeking death and death would flee them. Imagine, rotting in the streets, trampled under foot, beneath the hot sun. Screaming, and none can hear. Pleading for death to end it, and death flees from you and your rotting existence continues to decay, forever without end.
I honestly cannot imagine anything more horrifying and terrifying than such an eternal state of mind-bogglingly excruciating pain and torment. Burning without being consumed, as wood is consumed
by the flames.

It IS written that death and hell shall be cast into the lake of fire, that burns forever.
And I would certainly hate to see any of you, in hell, destined for the lake of fire.
But again, everyone is free to make their choice. God gave all of us a free will and a choice
to seek Him, while He may yet be found, and to trust and obey Him and to love and follow Him or not.
