So obviously my birthday was last week, only got a couple of happy bday greeting, and they were on facebook, the worst way to communicate. I know it's hard dealing with this, since my moon is in leo, but I just kind of thought I mattered a little bit more to those I care about. I am extremely giving, and really do enjoy the look on people's faces when they receive. I'm starting to realize though, maybe I should just take a break, really take a break and be into myself more. It's not about giving a $ 50 applebees gift card, and expecting one back. More like, can you come over and visit, just for a little bit, or maybe we could go hiking, etc Whatever the case, this isn't working for me, and has me feeling very lonely and depressed. I do wonder if there is something in my chart that would indicate a turn of events. Just so tired of it all and physically feeling drained.

... but I have been where you are. Your energy, and the vibe you send out does have an effect. I have found that with some thorough self-reflection, identifying a few key issues I had, and correcting those behaviours I was able to come out of my funk. It is an on-going process but well worth the effort. Realizing, *understanding and *accepting that not everyone shows affection and love in the same way is really important.
If and when that fails I write it off to a bad day, a bad mood, a bad retrograde, a bad whatever and get busy on doing something that lifts my spirits and self-esteem.

I understand how you feel. Perhaps it's that you never demanded more of your friends. The thing is, when you're a giver people get comfortable with that fact. And if you don't have the right people in your life, they can take that for granted and not see that you deserve reciprocity. Perhaps you should let them know how you feel. The average person is so self absorbed they don't even realize that their actions affected you.

^This. Definitely.

Know what you mean scorpio!

I'm the same age as you and my birthday is in 9 days. I know my family will eventually dos oemthing but most of my "close" freinds live far away now or have their own lives to attend to that I don't think it'll be spent with any of them. I have things planned where I'll spend time days before my bdayu and the days after with new friends for other reasons other than my bday.

The reason my life is like this even though I am like you very empathetic and giving...I don't do much in regards to the day to day requirements a friendship takes i.e. calling to see howt hey are doing,t he random "let's go do soemthign" calls. I'm more reserved and keep to myself and stay focus on tasks at hand so I'm sure it gives off a don't bother me kinda perception. I'm trying to change this.

The funk sucks... lol I am not suggesting you blame yourself though. Sometime we are simply surrounded by assholes as the quote goes, and it is important to make sure that the people you surround yourself with are good people. I eliminated the relationships I had with those that would suck the life right out of me if they could. It was a good move. Don't look at it as a time where you feel alone, that is a negative perspective. Try instead to look at it as a perfect time to spend alone with yourself. That is a positive perspective.
I think we all go through something like this, don't be afraid of that word 'alone' but instead embrace it.

I used to feel let down by people for quite a long time

Now? Never...my ex (son's Daddy) said to me once

*Never expect anything from anyone and you wont be disappointed*

Best bit of advice i was ever given

As long as i don't let myself down, then i am not too worried

Great feeling!

🙂

*Never expect anything from anyone and you wont be disappointed*

That's actually an old saying that's been around the world, star.

But in order to do this, you must be cynical or else, you let your
guard down and the next thing you know, you've been disappointed.

I like that saying

No not cynical but just aware of what the reality is

Disappointed? I think as we mature, we get a handle on that
As i said, as long as you don't let yourself down, all else becomes
secondary

🙂

Disappointed? No. Not at all. Why do you ask?

Mr F

My dad passed on with the same attitude of *people just dont care blah blah* as he had
adopted all his life

Imagine getting to the end of your life and still feeling embittered. He was such a good teacher
for me. I decided to learn from his dependence on others making us *happy*

Nobody does, only ourselves

Valuable lesson

Your father probably had a good reason for having that impression that "People just don't care".
Why was your father embittered?

I agree 100% . Ppl take for granted your loving and giving nature.
