Petty things can be put aside if we wanted, petty things like race. Thats the counter arguement to what you said earlier. But there will always be racism or prejudice theres no solution to that one. People will always have the desire to attack another to make themselves get a false feeling of power. I dont know if that would ever change, and thats what i was saying when we will fall on our face and be the architect of our own demise when it comes to that type of mentality. Our power wont stay the same forever, so there needs to be a change in our mentality and how we think instead of rotting from the inside.

Ashley, whats your moon girlie β€”β€” We seem to be on the same page when it comes to all of this lol. I don't have to say a word, you said it all for me.

Oh and the whole race arguement is very silly in my opinion -- regardless to how people voted, there reasons belong to them and only them. Its an individuals right to vote they way they choose and not to be swayed by any pressure from any given source.

For crying-out-sideways ----> theres no such thing as race actually, LOL but thats my opinion -- the whole mentality concerning race is only for the ones who need something to separate themselves with -- I know I may be unpopular after that comment, but thats okay thats okay that ooookay πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

So my point is, if some want to believe 65,431,955 people voted for him purely based on race, then I obviously need to give myself more credit in the area of intelligence -- because I'm smarter then those who use brains as their 'platform' ^_^.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure some people did. But is that a bad thing? It was there choice, right? There were people who wanted McCain because he was older and had been in Washington DC for a while theres no difference, it just depends on the issues you support to enforce your arguement πŸ™‚

Sorry, I just thought I get on my soapbox for a moment πŸ˜‰ I rather enjoy it up here πŸ˜„

Because I felt like it πŸ˜›

It doesn't matter who wins the popular vote, only the electoral counts. Regardless, popular vote doesn't matter, he could have gotten less then 53% of the popular and still won the election.

Thats why I stated that because it DOESN'T matter what the popular says πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ The popular shouldn't be taken into consideration because it doesn't elect the president πŸ˜„

But being a woman who questions the intelligence of others, I was sure you knew that.

Well, you learned something new girl, take it and be proud ^_^.

sweetheart, you are equal to that of the piece of maggot shit mentioned last week. I truly find you pathetic, and wonder what is lacking in your personal life to expose yourself as such. If you cannot carry a conversation without insult, expect the same in return.

If that's the case ... then realize that every person in here, except a couple, took the whole point of this thread out of context to comment on.

Right over their heads, yet, remarked from a perspective in which they didn't bother to try and interpret, and automatically took a position that didn't even coincide the message = took the whole point of this out of context.

"you starting this thread was to stir up controversy"

Nope, the controversy is already there, has been for some time. We go about life glossing it over, without ever dealing with it. If we had it figured out, and dealt with, then it wouldn't still exist .. kids wouldn't still be putting nooses on trees where black children hang out.

Ignoring something isn't dealing with it.

You would say, stirring up controversy, as a defense to suggest that it shouldn't be realized of it's existence, and to realize the problem is a bad thing.

Perhaps, that's another reason why America is so fucked up. We think we're bad-asses, when in reality .... we we are ignorant to our own issues and think other countries are fucked up for having any.

bran, if you expect too much from the sheeple, their heads might explode.

Be careful, we don't want people detonating all over the place.

====================

"Over the weekend people on North Michigan Avenue were pausing in the frigid air at the corner where it intersects with Oak Street, and were staring up at the windows of a restaurant that has been there for many years, yet has never been the object of this kind of general curiosity.

It is a fixture on the corner? Spiaggia is its name, and although it sounds like an import from old Europe, it was opened not by a famous chef from Naples, Italy, but by Larry Levy from Ladue, Missouri, by way of Northwestern University? and the reason it was receiving long gazes was that Barack and Michelle Obama had dined there Saturday night.

Those who have also eaten there in the past were wondering aloud: Did Senator and Mrs. Obama sit in the main restaurant, or the more casual caf? down the hallway? Early news reports varied. But the fact that there even were news reports about the dinner? news reports sent with some urgency around the world? was a sign that Chicago, at least until January 20, has at this late point in its long civic history become a center of international attention in a way it has not quite seen before, and it has seen a lot.

And if this feels bizarre for the city, think how it must feel for the family in the middle of all of it. Across the Atlantic Ocean, political analysts over the weekend were deciphering what it signified that British prime minister Gordon Brown spent ten minutes on the phone with Obama, while French President Nicolas Sarkozy got a reported 30 minutes. Was there meaning in this? Could it be attributed only to the language difference, and the possible need for translation? As recently as 2004 Obama was hanging around downstate Springfield, Illinois, as one of 177 state legislators, and now the political giants of Europe were competing for bragging rights over how much phone time he allotted to them.

Newborn babies, or so it was said, were being named not just for Obama, but for his wife and children. On the AOL home page over the weekend, the main news story carried the headline: ?Who Can Beat Barack Obama?? It referred to the Republicans' chances in the 2012 presidential election. Never mind that Obama has not even been inaugurated. Never mind that he doesn't even live in Washington yet."

ashley --

I will give you the upmost credit for standing your ground -- you are my kind of girl πŸ˜‰

You don't back down πŸ˜„ I have offline stuff to do so I can't really get into all this stuff ^_^. But its cool to see that fiery spirit πŸ˜„

I've read what you have to say and you are by far the one I agree with the most. Its not the fact that we are on the same page -- there are a few disagreements there but thats fine, its the way it should be, I can't agree with you all the time lol -- but you are using both your head and your heart, this is rare πŸ˜‰ This is coming from someone who uses both their head and their heart, just to let you know πŸ™‚

I give you *high-fives* across the board.

I had to get fiery with a Saggie today at work hahahaha. She likes to pull my "chain" but today I pulled hers.

I think she's a 2nd decan saggie, its weird beccause I usually get along with Saggies but this one is like a bitch on wheels. I know how to get her goat now πŸ˜› She's way too old to act the way she does but so be it, you know ^_^.

My aries friend pointed out that she's always trying to go behind my back on something -- I'm glad I have him there to get the dirt on her hahahahaha!!!! ooooo evil me πŸ˜›

Its not even about that... i hate living in a world like the one where in now.

I don't like it either, but its up to us to change it πŸ˜„ Generation Y has its issues but we are indeed the MOST proactive generation when it comes to social issuses.

We can push through what Gen X and the Baby boomers failed to do. Now, I know I will be called an idealist for this, but thats okay. Its what I believe and thats all that matters hahaha

Generation Y can't do shit, because they don't know what they're talking about half of the time. As in the case with both Cappy and Ashley. Idealism will only get your SO far. Eventually you have to implement things that work.

LOL! That was cute. Okay mister, I'm a wait and see kind of girl. Lets wait and see what "we" (speaking of generations) can do πŸ˜‰

I'm proactive, but I believe patience is a virtue πŸ™‚

Debating? Don't you mean cheerleading? You aren't supporting your cause, because you can't defend it. Only walk away when there is too much pressure against your beloved president.

^_^. You should know that sort of bait doesn't work on me πŸ™‚

Sorry B, going around and around about the same stuff has never really appealed to me. I can't defend all that I believe (or cause lol) all night long because theres no real point in it all. What do I gain from doing it. I'ave had my HAPPY-HAPPY-JOY-JOY moments, now its time to get serious πŸ˜‰

I've done my victory dancing, so now I will wait to see what comes of this administration and I will look at what I can do as a citizen to keep the energy going along with implementing certain principles.

As the president-elect has said many times before the election -- he needs "us" to help him with all of this, he knows he can't do it alone πŸ™‚

I can't throw out all the political mumbo jumbo all night along, but I have to think to myself .... what is it that I have to really prove here.

What I was suppose to happen has already occurred, the right person is our camolet πŸ˜„ My job is done, now I all I have to do is get ready because "we" have alot of work to do. He needs support, not fire -- whether or not you are for him or against. He needs us so called cheerleaders as you would put it and I'm glad to be one of them πŸ™‚ Plus, I think I look darn cute in a skirt LOL!!!!!

Thank you ladies and gentlemen *takes a bow* Good morning, good evening and good night.

OH! Before I leave, I will answer the orginal question to the thread, since I'm one of many who didn't answer it ... I think

.. are you ready for a REAL Civil War, one of such magnitude that it will be the prerequisite for the worlds annihilation?

I think I'm ready for anything, the world has yet to surprise me and I'm still under 25 years old.

It is my belief that there will be no civil war -- that rubbish. Why? Because there is no reason for there to be one. If you are speaking of a 'civil war' within the U.S. that will also get passed over to other countries then I would have to say no πŸ™‚

We haven't reached a point where a civil war would have any foundation to hold for very long -- an Obama presidency alone could not start a civil war, wacky people who need psycho treatments can cause a huge uproar but not a war here in the U.S. Nope, will not happen here.

Bill Limbaugh, you hardly make any points. Most of the shit you say comes directly from your rectum. And according to you, everyone here is an intellectual lightweight. If that idea helps you sleep better at night, so be it.

You're one of those people who prefers to complain about their situation rather than change it. Rather than take some responsibility on your part, you point fingers. You only state problems and never offer solutions. Citizens should be held somewhat accountable for the state of our economy. Ppl who knew good and damn that they didn't have jobs, had no business taking out home loans.

You said you dissatisfied with our credit based economy, I suggested you move to France, where the credit cards are like debit cards. Or Singapore, whose economy has demonstrated resilience when the rest of the world was knocked to its knees.

For one, I have never, ever stated how I planned to/did cast my vote. One of my goals in life is to encourage awareness. If I spot ignorance, I will make every effort to stop it dead in its tracks before it spreads like the plague.

Two, you are a self-proclaimed black racist. Therefore, your point of view on any subject is nullified until you rid yourself of hatred. lol

Three, they were suggestions. If you don't like them, then come up with something better. Because as far as I know, every other country is pretty much in the same shythole that we're in, or worse. Last I checked, our unemployment numbers topped 10 million. And when you consider the cost of living in Singapore, you might actually fair better. Not to mention, when you take into account the growth rates they've achieved just 10 yrs after the Asian Financial Crisis. Get off wikipedia, for Pete's sake.

Lastly:

""You're still speculating, but you have no tangible evidence to verify this. You can't think of one situation where I've ever been soft. You're the softy and the weakling notso. And I think you understand that deep down inside. I would say take care, but I really don't care how much you suffer.""

- LOL! Wow. If I responded with what initially came to mind, you might try to harm yourself, and I wouldn't want that on my conscience. So I will refrain and extend only my thoughts and prayers to you. For future reference though, you need to practice a better poker face. πŸ˜‰
