How old is he?
@Vixen2 ..so interesting, I was just now thinking exactly that! Explain it in a way that isn't completely deceiving but still fun. His Pisces Asc makes for a Sun, Moon, Asc grand trine in water so I feel like he is exceptionally intuitive and will know if we tell him something untrue.
My parents told me I figured it out soon and just walked towards them one day "So this year for Christmas I want..."
"You mean Santa?"
"Whatever. This is what I want..."
They also wanted to keep the charade up and I found them placing the presents under the tree and rolled my eyes at them.
But I am a huge fan of fairytales. To believe strongly then learn not to believe helps my spirit.

How old is he?
Just turned two. This year I have to decide what we're doing because he's so aware now.
You could mix the two and say that since Santa is so old now..parents have to help him and be actively involved.

My mother in law has told me that my scorpio boyfriend was an adult from the time he was born...a grown man in a tiny body. Always insisting on doing things himself, never wanting to play with children his own age and FAR wiser than his age. She said his teachers were even stumped as to what to do with him in school. By the time they moved stateside from Ireland...the principle skipped him two grades and then that really wasn't sufficient but they worried that him being a 15 year old senior would be worse for him.I think she probably knows full well that Santa is a tradition. You should probably explain it as such with the regards as something like a legend...that some people say it's make believe but if you really believe it can be real...who knows!
I'd love to hear your boyfriend's opinion. π

This is so foreign to me. I'm clueless. My grandparents used to tag some of my gifts as from Santa but I don't recall ever relieving or even considering it as a real possibility.

I'll go check

lmao, when you couldn't go the aries moon route..target the neptune!
Posted by elllesque
while he's sobbing that we lied to him....I'll try to slip candy canes under the door to calm him.
that will only reinforce the lie.
maybe that's why i hate sweets.
My Sag learned by 5 that Santa wasn't real, to my dismay. She has told/asked that Santa isn't real. I always tell her he is and she rolls her eyes or tries to "argue" with me to just admit it. I am never letting Santa go!!!
It's funny because she knows it isn't real, but she likes to play along with it.

well, I have an 8 yr old daughter...she isn't his biologically but he definetly loved and raised her as his own from the time she was two. He had told me that he just couldn't "do the whole Santa thing " for her because it was a lie and often reflected and wondered if she would feel betrayed by her parents lying to her when she found out the truth as she inevitably would. But that's what he would do...talk about him as a legend...like no one really knew if he existed or if he was real but that it was ok to believe in him "just in case". He was adorable.

I really like this idea. Allows him to decide for himself. I'm not denying him the possibilities but I'm also giving him the opportunity to believe.

do you know which house his neptune is in?
12th house Pisces Neptune Rx
-Trine Sun Scorpio 8th
- Opposite Mars Virgo 6th
Does that Neptune placement mean the universe is suggesting he is born to awful parents who will deny him the magic!!?? π’

he'll know it's a lie.....but he doesn't want you to tell him.
neptune is at home in the 12th house.

He'll want to play along just for fun, even though he'll know it isn't true.. Is that what you're saying?

I think Vixen's with a touch of magic will work nicely with that neptune. He will focus on the 'legend' and that will bring Christmas to life....but he'll 'know' it's you guys doing it.
He probably won't want to talk about it though....not in a 'clinical' let's sit down and get this straight.....conversation.
It's this 'little secret' between all of you....that he'll keep sacred.
Yes. This sounds right and very sweet. This boy is pure magic to my soul. I need to return that magic to him somehow. Also, I think I could get my Virgo/Aqua dominant husband to go along with this plan. Aqua Mars = authentic to the core.

Go for it! I figured out fairly early Santa wasn't real. My mom (a libra too btw) actually said she was so sure I was scamming her by faking belief to get more/better presents. π
The most important thing to me as a Scorp/cancer was just to have family traditions. Spending all day decorating the house together, letting me choose where to put decorations, making cookies together, making everything nice and homey. That's what I cared about, feeling like an important part of the family. I couldn't have given two craps once I found out Santa wasn't real lol.

Good stuff. Thank you for responding!
So just for fun I'll share my mom's placements because she says she was SO MAD about the lies when she found out Santa wasn't "real."
Sun: Aries
Moon: Leo
Mercury: Taurus
Venus: Aries
I thinks the T Merc played a huge role. She takes EVERYTHING so literal.

fyi...the boyfriend has Pisces in the 12th as well. He was a quad Scorpio wit a Capricorn moon which I believed outweighed much of the magical thinking in the 12th...always vetting for the truth.

My son's 12th is ruled by Aqua.
Posted by duchesslibroMy only concern is that he has a Cancer Moon so I don't want him to feel like I denied him of the magic.
I bet he's just playing along bc he doesn't want to ruin it for you lol. Even my earlies recollections of Santa I remember I never bought into it. Could be bc my uncles made crappy Santas.. so try-less.
Crab moon kids are a conflicting mix of jaded and naive.

Yes keep the dream alive. I have an older sister and brother and they ruined it for me when i was 5. i knew for some time before my parents finally told me.
Even with knowing, i look back on those times with fondness and my heart gets filled, then i run away.. too many feels ya know. π
@damnata 's suggestion is a very good one.
You also are creating memories for yourself and your hubby.. in 10-20 years, you will think back on these times with warmth. He's 2 now but he will soon be grown!

does he have any other planets in the 12th house?12th house planets *need* secrets. Things you keep to yourself but intuitively share with others (whether they know it or not....lol)
Just keep the secrets 'healthy' and he'll be fine.
We (those with 12th house planets) spend a lifetime deciphering between good secrets and bad secrets. A really good foundation should help with that later.
Pisces Chiron
I know almost nothing about asteroids. Chiron is about healing yeah? But it's not classified as an asteroid? This is everything I know. (Notice the question marks. lol)

Do people seriously think made up shit is going to make childhood more magic? Adults really are out of touch. The real magic comes from exploring themselves and the world.

scorp sun, cap moon, scorp merc, sag venusi caught my sag mama wrapping presents and writing "from santa" on the tags.
i was more upset that she lied to me, lol.
Opposite moon might make all the difference?
I will not teach my child anything about Santa except to tell her that many people like to live in lies and delusion.

Yes. My friend has had so much inner confliction regarding this with her son. I haven't even gotten that far yet. It seems like a huge commitment and I may be too flakey minded to pull it off.
My friend is Sagi Sun, Virgo Moon, Scorpio Merc, Scorp Venus, Aqua Mars. I don't really get straight answers regarding how she's been approaching the Elf/Santa situation. Her boy is an Aqua sun, "Why? How? What? Tell me everything!"

Did you read the thread or HIPPO?
I'm leaning towards a suggestion to present as legend, which sounds good to me, I'll share the stories, traditions, history of such and present it in a way like, some people believe and some do not, and leave it open as a possibility.
Honestly I wouldn't even know where to begin presenting it any other way. I'm Scorpio dominant, airy, Jupiter Rx, not exactly brimming with magic.

I have never used it, but I know families that do. This one "naughty" girl comes to mind and she tries to be on her best behavior. I love that girl, she cracks me up with how mischievous she is. Always up to something.

Your plan sounds on point I think. πAs a cancer moon I needed a lot of balance between romanticism and realism. We can be so fragile as kids, we take magic to unreal levels sometimes lol. My cap moon mom cured me of such things. π coulda used a little less lecture and boulders to ground me and a little more fun here and there lol.
But even so, I would say I've turned out really well. And I see what my parents did honestly. They did their best. One thing you can count on cancer moon is being devoted to their family unit. We want to know why you did what you, what motivates you emotionally. That's why your whole legend idea seems good. π
Capricorn Mars here. I obviously will provide structure and guidance but I want to avoid crushing all his dreams too! All my Libra parts help me balance it out I think.

As a child Santa I knew was a false story that other kids partook no I made sure I kept it a secret so they could enjoy that moment . After all I knew the truth it was baby Jesus bringing the toys.
I will for sure make sure he knows to not ruin it for other children.

my poor kids. I was a hot mess.it's funny because the virgo now thinks that was a wonderful idea....and the pisces is like..."wait, all the Santas were black? I didn't notice."
you know, to white children....Santa looks like everyone's grandfather......to children of colour....he looks like the racist preacher who was so horrible that you had to be pulled out of daycare.lol
I just could not live with that association.
My father is 6'2" and looks like a scare crow.
My mother used to push me though.....I can't count how many times I made her rewrap presents. "FFS, I SAID USE SNOWMEN IF YOU CANNOT FIND A BLACK SANTA, GOT DAMMIT!!!"
News to me.
Never experienced this with Santa. And most of the preachers in the black community are Black. Santa was just Santa.

Was adamant I wasn't gonna do it with my Shorty. Then we went to spend Chrimbo with the inlaws. Was her third Christmas, but the first she'd remember. The MIL LOVES Xmas! It was unavoidable. Their country, staying in their house... the woman had planned it out for months! I begrudgingly agreed to not actively participate, nor intervene. Before we were woken up, fake snow had been arranged into footprints downstairs and full stockings were placed outside our bedroom doors. I'll never forget the moment she saw those footprints. The look on her face. Hearing her yell out, "reinde-ew!" (why not "santa!"? i have no idea. kid was 2 and high on magic. give her a break.).
She's 10 now. A grown up in a kid's body. If I had it to do over, I'd not only not intervene, I'd be making footprints outta snow.
I have a question. This reminded me of my father and they way he did Christmas. Not a single decoration was put up prior to Christmas Eve. When we went to sleep that night, the next morning was like magic.
Was this an English thing?

I suspect my child is perhaps too smart for the Santa myth but my friend tried guilting me into considering doing it because magic, childhood, etc. My parents didn't do it so I have zero nostalgic ties.
I'm on the fence but leaning towards don't lie to my child.
My only concern is that he has a Cancer Moon so I don't want him to feel like I denied him of the magic. Either way if he feels negative at it he might hold a grudge forever right? His personal placements are as follows:
Sun Scorpio
Moon Cancer
Mercury Scorpio Rx
Venus Sagittarius
