There I disagree with you. I think Scorpios take feelings more seriously than Virgos (my wife would "Amen!" that statement). Because they do, their warring passions have a more serious effect on them, and that's what I'm trying to get an insight into with this thread...

Alright 🙂

Dy, I have more experience with Scorpio men, but I have two female friends who are scorpios and I have a female virgo boss I work with. I don't think scorpios take their feelings more seriously then virgos, I just think scorpios aren't afraid to put their whole self out there to the one person they trust. This is why scorpios detest those who lie to them because Scorpios feel that trust is the key to their heart and soul.

Virgos will trust someone worthy of it, but they also believe in the motto:"promises are made to be broken". And Virgos understand that human nature goofs up sometimes and things cannot always be honest. Scorpios, on the other head, don't see things that way.

I hope I anyswered your question 🙂

How do you know that? Can you see inside her?

LOL, because she says I'm too emotional for her 😛 😛 😛 I never though a scorpio of all people would tell me this. Last December, we were having a conversation about that stuff and she said that she happy that she can detach easier then me. And I have a freaking Aqua moon, maybe that's the problem, Aqua should be a water sign 😛

Never! I'll shave my ass and learn to walk on my hands first!!

LOL!!!! Whats wrong with libras? They are cool too 😄

of course, non-water signs can be very emotional. especially if their social environment taught them to connect in such a way.

I grew up with a pisces mom and a scorpio dad ... so ... yeah, I didn't have choice. lol, I'm emotional by default!

To S.S. :

My father -- being a Scorpio/Saggie cuspy was a very emotional man. Yes, sometimes my mom was cold compared to him. But my mom would show her emotions at 10-fold at times, especially when she way upset.

I would set back and go "huh?" and sometimes think "Whats the big deal?"

When I was younger, my mom wondered if I had any feelings at all because of my reaction to things. Haha, then she would have my Saggie grandmother get on my case, so OH YEAH, I had to get emotions quick!

one of my taurus friends tells me the same thing. that wishes she could be like me, and detach herself easily. she thinks that it is like nothing for me to let go of someone or something i've formed a connection with... it is as difficult (if not more) for me as it is for her.

the difference b/w me and her is that i can physically distance myself from a person, while she can't seem to bring herself to step back. doesn't mean i'm not still emotionally attached, or that i am less emotional than her. it has more to do wih pride. i won't show that i care.

Cusp of Power: ....translation...

DyarStra?e hasnt gotten any in a while.

No... you got lost in your own translation.

S-I-L: I think Scorpions possess the tools to help us plumb far beneath the surface of human behavior and motivation in an effort to understand the cycle of life and death.

Probably. But I think y'all get overwhelmed by those forces (like pressure?) in the dark water, which is why wise Virgo is a land-lover!

"are any of the scorps you know operating at the Eagle or Phoenix level?"

LMAO! Few (if any) of the scorps posted about on this board are operating at either of those levels. If they were, there wouldn't be all these questions and drama-rama stories. Those two phases most certainly DO exist, although I admit for years I thought they were myth. They are not. When that external layer is stripped away they take your hand and TAKE you to the depths with them. I've experienced this not only with my boyfriend, but with my scorpio girlfriends. There's a negative connotation to the word "depth" I guess, if you have a fear of water. lol

Dyar, if you're afraid of going or can't handle emotion, how can she take you there, even if she wanted to? You say she has trouble describing those types of things. It's because emotion isn't logical and you can't apply them to each other. You can use them in accord at times, but they operate on completely different planes in the psyche, which is why they defy words.

"I think what's negative about it is it's only being applied to Scorpios and no other signs."

Is it scorpios that do this, though? Or the astrology books? Maybe they're just buying into the hype, as so many others do. Depth is also a pretty vague term. To me it just implies there will be more layers of facade to get through before you get to something real. I tend to think of buried emotions, which is pretty much the case with most water signs, but not exclusively. I know some Capricorns and Geminis who are pretty damn good at it to. 🙂

"I also notice that the Scorpios on here only seem to compliment and acknowledge other Scorpios's posts or people that they like or the people that pretty much only talk about their strengthes, which further confirms my idea about biasness amongst Scorpios. I mean I think DS, myself, and newbie had some really great and well-said points as well, but of course no one acknowledges that here."

FA that much doesn't surprise me. In fact, I expect it. Very few scorpios will admit to what they really are...especially to those nasty weaknesses they have. They are all about power and control. You and I know what they're like in real life so whether or not they admit to the truth on this board is something I couldn't care less about.

Let them believe they are sooo deep and nobody understands them and all that bullcrap. They want to be perceived as mysterious and they want to be perceived as complicated.

Plunge into the depths? Are you kidding me? They don't even know what's down there themselves and they're asking you to plunge into their demonic hell...so that halfway down there when they find something dark and sinister and go...WTF— Didn't know THIS was there...they let go of your hand to excavate even more and forget that you're there trying to explore with them...and cuz the water is so friggin murky, you cant see anything or where the hell they've gone to so you're left ON YOUR OWN to try and find your friggin way back to the surface.

Have you ever seen a scorpio under pressure? No? Well that's cuz he/she has fainted and left you ALONE to deal with the shit that he/she probably started up in the first place.

Stable water indeed. Doesn't say much about the other water signs. And the funny thing is I've been coaching my pisces bff ? yes, a friggin WATER sign ? on what's going on with her scorp hubby. And then she looks at me and goes ? wow, you totally understand this cuz I'm busy describing his behaviour to her. It's called psychology.

But no...I TOTALLY dont get it cuz I'm not a water sign and scorps are soooo deep.

"Newbie having us all figured out; she doesn't even need to ask anything."

LOL...well fumingli what can I say? What do I need to ask about scorpios that I dont already know? That hasn't already been asked? I've been surrounded by them all my life. Scorpio is part of my chart. If I have learnt to understand myself, why in the world would I be asking someone else about myself?

jackdoniel,

Thank you again for your thoughtful and heartfelt responses. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

About the Scorpio Phases: Virgos have them, too. I had an Andy Griffith childhood, an Apocalypse Now adolescence, Know-It-All young adulthood, and now Laid Back middle age. I've seen something similar with my Virgo Dad, so I know it ain't just me. We all go through stages of development - and hopefully we keep growing & evolving until we draw our last breaths!

My concern in this thread are those intense, and intensely personal, internal emotional struggles that I've seen Scorpios suffer with. Yes! Other Signs have emotional turmoil. But... I still think that Scorps suffer to a far greater degree than others, due to the integration of the emotional life with everything they do.

J😱 I can be practical, even though it is not something that comes to me naturally, I have to put more effort than an earth sign would have to in order to succeed...

Yes, and Earth Signs are naturally more practical. Interesting... it's almost like someone created all these signs, elements, etc. to achieve an overall harmony and balance...

Jack, I know what you're trying to say. Scorpio sun is not the only scorpio there is. Remember, I'm scorpio rising. Anyone with sun, moon or rising with scorpio will feel and understand the effects of Pluto...as a scorpio.

?It's your understanding someone's nature that will make you enjoy a life with that person to it's full potential either that are you can keep fighting for the rest of your life.?

What makes you think I don't understand the scorpio nature? How clearly can I say that I have scorpio in my chart? A LOT of it, I might add.

?Deep water is "where" a Scorpio is at??

So tell me Jack, is this deep water suspended in the middle of the air? Unless you live on a different planet, I think not. This deep water is supported by the EARTH. Earth has NO fear of water.

Sometimes earth just gets fed up of the tidal waves and would rather boot water onto another element...like air or fire perhaps.

Yes virgogotme...you have extreme depth that we earthlings just don't get.

FA was right. It's like the scorpios here only want to hear the positives about their sign then when anyone mentions the negative they want to run away and sulk complaining about how they are misunderstood cuz they are soooo deep.

Understand who you are and accept it. Only then will you grow. Just cuz I'm pointing certain things out does not mean I hate scorpios. But I don't kiss a $ $ either.

You won't find me sulking cuz someone said bulls love money, are stubborn, love food, etc. And I sure as hell will not conclude that that person hates bulls. Its called being objective.

As opposed to being emotional and taking everything personally as if someones attacking you.

Man! This was not the Struggle I envisioned when I started this thread...

newbie, You were wrong about the Ascendent. Admit it. That's what grown-ups do when they make a mistake / misstatement of fact.

F-A: ...I'm able to be this critical and honest towards them in real life and we get along great vs. what gets confused as dislike or being nasty on a message board.

That's because they know you in the Real World. Words are much easier to misconstrue in a forum like DXP. You friends, family, etc. can see your body language, hear the tone of your voice, and get a much better understanding of the meaning behind your words...

J😱 Scorpios would like to be understood by most, when most of what they're about is unseen to most.

Indeed! A true statement on the Scorpio Condition. To which Virgo replies: But, we do see enough to appreciate the rest. Share with us, and we'll see more. The more we know and understand, the better we'll be able to support you during those turbulent times. Admitting to us that you do struggle is not an admission of weakness - just like Virgo admitting that he has feelings (and even a tender heart) is not an admission of weakness, either.

Dyar I was trying to tell her that the ascendant is waaay more important than just outer personality...it's extremely significant but I didnt want to give an astrological lesson about the concept of chart ruler and so on and so forth. I already went through that on the astrology board.

Here's the difference between Scorpio & Virgo and The Struggle...

Both my younger brother and I had rocky teenage years. Living out in the boondocks, bored outta our skulls, and going through all those crazy hormone changes all at the same time!

BUT... I emerged from those years in better mental & emotional shape. Why? Because I was always open with my suffering: Openly hostile, openly cynical, openly sarcastic, etc.

My Scorpio brother always appeared so much calmer and happy-go-lucky as a teen than I did. BUT... He's emotionally stunted now - still trying to live like he's a High School Senior. Been married 5 times. Reckless with his finances (but always has a great time!), and with other areas of his life.

I can't help but think that if I'd understood him better on the emotional level, I might have been able to help him deal with some of those inner struggles. It could have been beneficial for both of us. BUT... I'll never know for sure.

Uh... I'll have to do some GOOGLING myself, but I consider your statement one of opinion, not of fact. In astrology, "fact" has a looser meaning than in the pure sciences, but I think a consensus of astrological authorities would be equivalent to a fact for the purposes of avoiding admissions of error on this Internet forum...

F-A: I feel like I'm a Virgo first and an Aries second.

Hmmmm... Sometimes, I act more like my Scorpio Rising. Other times, more like my Taurus Moon. In lovemaking, I occasionally reflect some of my Venus in Leo.

And just to complicate already complicated shit, I'm a SEP 22nd Virgo / Libra Cusper...

No wonder I'm all screwed-up! It's not my fault, it's all my zany planetary alignments!!

"I don't dislike the person because a person and the sign aren't one and the same thing to me. I think what prevents people here from listening to each other is our egoes and our inability to read things more objectively."

F-A, I agree with you, but to many people here, all they see are signs. They know a"few" people of a certain sign and cannot accept or admit that all people of that sign are NOT negative or evil or complicated. lol Even when others say, hey...that's not been my experience at all. You know the saying "You can't judge another until you've walked a mile in his shoes?" It's a cliche because there's truth in it.

Water signs are motivated by emotion. It is at the core of who we are and everything we do. Earth signs often just cannot get their logical minds around that, anymore than we can understand their side of things, which makes sense - we are complete opposites. Yet, if someone can't understand our emotion, or refuses to accept that side, or even worse BELITTLES it, we're better off alone, honestly. Because in a relationship with someone like that, even if it's just a friendship, that person is not capable of understanding where we come from any more than we can do the same for them. Everything will be transposed through their lens, which doesn't resemble ours in the slightest.

But, rather than just admit this, it is much easier for some to dismiss something they can't understand as "drama" or "weakness" or some other negative connotation.

I am also still confused on how emotional depth can be considered both a "superiority complex" and a "weakness" all at the same time. If we could pick one huge generalization and stick with it, that might be helpful. 😉

Sea Siren: Yet, if someone can't understand our emotion, or refuses to accept that side, or even worse BELITTLES it, we're better off alone, honestly.

True words. And in my youth, I would not have been attracted to my Scorp, because I would definitely have belittled her emotional states - and she would've hated me for it. And rightly so.

Now... while we may pick at each other for our differences, we genuinely respect each other's strengths and weaknesses. We both had to grow up to get to this point.
