@Lovebucket exactly that is when the drama started when everyone started reassuring me, I don't need that I also have a thick skin but I have a mouth and I will speak my opinion regardless of what drama may start. Just like she spoke the truth maybe I spoke the truth of how I felt at that moment so there you have it, I don't mind being the token black person if you want to call it that I always get the job it hasn't been one interview I have been on that I didn't get the job so I am cool believe me. I still go with it's the principle and just a general respect for people regardless of race for instance if I work in an all black office and a non-white person was hired why would I say that to them that yeah you were hired for this or that reason like you said they probably already know that so what make it so obvious, every one has their own opinions and some should be kept to yourself espically if the other person may feel disrespected so once again it's the PRINCIPLE and the issue of RESPECT. Also I work at a bank and in my area we have a couple of locations and the other one that is close to mine has two hispanic women there so I don't feel like the token anything really, my skills speak for themselves........ Also the other person have black women there.

As for those who believe the world has evil people who want to reject white people from positions because they are white, ughhhh that doesn't happen. You may think the world is out to get all white people in America, but that is a message broadcast on the radio and now by television political commentators that are trying to scare up some division.
If you want answers as to why America and several city and state governments have "diversity" programs, try researching why they were implemented in the first place, and why race is discussed in politics. Don't just stop at the story of one white man who didn't get a job.
As far as politically correct, that is a term used to divide people between those who try to come up with solutions, and those who want people to be angry and stop any action to fix issues in America.
Stop thinking a white man is superior at work! Nobody is asking you to think they are inferior, people are trying to say that a whole world is out there that is just as good at all the jobs out there. The world isn't fair, but adding to the problem by saying you hate women or hate people of color because you heard of a story of a white person complaining about how unfair their situation is, is only saying you care for problems that affect white people and that you don't want to consider that this world is about all of us in this world, not just who you consider at the current time.

I wouldn't have snapped on her, but I would have corrected the mess out of her young behind. To say they ONLY hired you to add diversity is very insulting, and she needed to be put in her place regardless of her position with the company. She stated her OPINION not a fact, which should have been brought to her attention, and makes me wonder what's the reason they hired her?!
