Dealing with a broken hearted virgo as a friend

My ex virgo and I broke up in April, I was going through a rough period in my life and kinda took it all out on him. In the end it hurt him really bad! We recently met up and had a long talk and decided we would try to rebuild the trust and friendship we once had. It started off kind of turbulent because he still was not really talking to me, so I told him I didnt want to try anymore because I felt like it was just me trying. Basically to make a long story short he broke down all the reasons why it was difficult for us to be friends to basically the point where I was crying feeling so bad and guilty, but at the end said he was willing to try (even after I said we should go our separate ways because our relationship was so severely damamged) but he insisted we try to be friends.

And lately he has really been trying. Texting me, and such.

I know Virgs are very stubborn and once their done their done, he even went as far as walking with me on a night that I was having a bad day.

What does this all mean?

It means he wants to be friends.
It also means you took advantage of him, and you should also humble yourself to approach him.
If you were crying and feeling bad and guilty, you'd have worked on this friendship, if you care about him. Instead, it comes across as cries for attention and manipulation.
