Giving an ultimatum.....

Is Giving an Ultimatum Effective in Relationships

Giving an ultimatum can lead to clear boundaries but often causes tension or resentment. Its effectiveness depends on the situation and how it is communicated. Consider whether open dialogue might achieve your goals better. Ultimatums are generally not recommended for healthy long-term relationships.

So they say giving someone an ultimatum isn't an good idea!

Some feel it can be beneficial if you want to be more.

So a convo between some of my friends and I earlier made me want to ask this question......

Have you ever given someone an ultimatum or would you if you wanted to more?

Did it go the way you wanted?

Actually to be more precise I will give myself an ultimatum.

Sometimes I get carried away in a situation where I develop an expectation. Say dating casually and realizing I feel more. I ask if the other person is on the same page with me if the interaction reached a point where there could be more between us. Then I step back and give myself an ultimatum to realize if I can do it if things remain casual. If I can't, I will bow out. I don't want to coerce anyone into anything. And if it's not going the way I felt it was going..that means I was under an illusion so I have to wake up. Appreciate things for what they were between us and won't drag them out longer.

No and if someone would do it to me, I'd be gone in a second.

I suppose we're talking relationships here and not work deadlines. 😛

Well geeeeez!!! Be gone in a second!!!! Yeah I message you a few weeks ago to ask you about that! We had that convo before and wanted to know another virgo point of view. But you didn't respond 😭 😭 😭 😭 my feelings were hurt! lol

YUP!!! that is me lol I give myself an ultimatum all the time, to either leave the situation alone or just go through with it.

However, I do believe that ppl should know how you feel. Not that they MUST feel the same way too, but people aren't mind readers.

It's an interesting question, and it may depend on a virgo's interpretation of what an ultimatum is?

I'm never dealt with virgo previously, but I said to one guy I was seeing (which started to get awkward) to "get back in touch if you want when you're less busy'.
It may be that was seen by him as an ultimatum which he's not willing to bow to, as still no response haha 😄
