Now... it has always been in my nature to be orderly, concise and well thought out.
So why not in grocery shopping as well?

I have refined my technique, I know it is annoying to bump into people and other carts on my way through the isles, so now I park my cart at the top of the isle and walk to and fro, in the isle to gather the goods I need.

My old Virgo pal, says I'm like his Virgo uncle, turning grocery shopping into a Science. Haha.

When it comes time to offload things at the cashier, I group all like items.
Preserved meats with yogurt, cheese and other refrigerated items.
Veggies with fruits, Toiletries with soap, disinfectants, toothpaste et cetera.

In stark contrast to when my Capricorn mom would shop, who goes over budget and my Aquarian uncle, who takes up to an hour and a half.

I am always well below my standard purchasing amount $ 800.00 TTD or $ 128.00 USD [Family of 8] and I do so within 17-25 minutes.

I am wondering if other Virgos are inclined to shop as I do, haha.

HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAAA... MIKE

I know a virgo who uses your method. lol... I saw that it works in clearing up the way. It's like the "bumping cars" when I used to go shopping with him.

CAJUN -- My shopping sounds pretty much like yours. I go with a shopping list and the cart is usually left at the end of the aisle. This one time, someone actually helped themselves in taking my cart for their use with its items inside. So am a bit more watchful of my cart now.

Am quick, efficient, and group those items at the cash register as well. I may even get overbored by turning their barcodes into the right direction to be scanned easier by the cashier. I also taught my ex Virgo man on how to read their Nutrition Facts labels so he knows how to shop healthy.

Am not a Virgo and I have only one Virgo in my chart. Not sure if he is the one making me do things in virgo fashion.

Good topic. I don't mind being obsessive compulsive.

I can't STAND those people that hog the isle with their cart! People, have you no consideration!

I only park the cart or basket if I'm in the fruit / vegetable section. Otherwise I'm rampaging through the isle giving people mean glares if think they own it.

And don't EVEN get me started on those people who go into the "10 items or less" isle and have like 200 things! I'm calling bullshit on "oh it was an accident! I didn't see the sign". Yea, my ass!

That's why i always used the self check-out. The very "Practical" way to get the hell out of there. LOL

LOL Mike, that sounds freaking awesome.

VirgoHero, I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. Pisses me off to high hell, hence my technique.

I'm suprised the Scorpios put as much effort as they do in this case, I would have imagined them to think of this as trivial.

Shaks! I read up on findyourfate.com's article on Virgo health, that we love to snack on junk. It's so true.
My Virgo grandpa and I, love to snack on cheesey tortilla chips!!!

Scorps are more anal about alot of things then one thinks.

I don't have to go often since it WAS just me but now that I have Aries at home I go about every 2 weeks. People standing in the middle of the isles without moving seriously enrage me. I get so pissed off. I usually will squeeze around them making really loud sighing noises and will pop off a sarcastic "excuse you". Assholes. If they don't know what they want then get the hell out of the way!

I don't eat much so I rarely ever have alot. I put every thing on the register counter in food groups. Dairy first, anything frozen or cold. No meat thank goodness 🙂 Yeck! I usually know what I want so I don't spend alot of time fiddling around. In and out and home to clean my fridge out. I do this every time I grocery shop. And I organize my cupboards. I love love love doing that!! Everything has to be neatly in line, dusted off, and put back by food groups.

I'm horrible OCD.

Hahaha. So the Scorp I chased awhile ago was totally OCD the same way you are. Her house was SPOTLESS if she was in a brooding or depressed. Every now and then I would just feel like tormenting her so when she was in the other room, I'd sneak into the kitchen and just randomly "adjust" a few things.

Her cups are all organized in a perfect row, upside down. So I'd randomely pick one, turn it right side up, and set it askew from the line.

All her medium sized plates are in one stack. Her large plates in another. All matching. I'd take a large plate and stick it in the middle of her stack of medium plates.

Scorp-Gal: "WHAT THE HELL!!! WHY'S MY KITCHEN MESSED UP?!?!"
VH: *INNOCENT VOICE* "I dunno! I just got here!"

Is that abnormal? I assumed everyone organized their cupboards this way. Hmmmm Yes, plates stacked in their own pile according to size. I have red and black plates (go figure) and I make sure there is a pattern in my stacking... red, black, red and so on. Black on black or red on red is a no no.

"Every now and then I would just feel like tormenting her so when she was in the other room, I'd sneak into the kitchen and just randomly "adjust" a few things."

WHAT?!?! Oh man why? That sucks!! My Taurus roomie use to do that to me. I'd mention being bored and he's disappear into the kitchen and then reappear about 10 min later with a smirk on his face telling me "I gave you something to do". I KNEW what he'd done and I run into the kitchen righting everything... labels out! Spank Spank VH!! 😛

"The towels must be hanged symmetrically; one side can't be hanging out longer than the other, the same with anything on the wall. No crookedness please."

This made me laugh. I'm the exact same way. EVERYTHING has to be symmetrical in my house. If there is a candle on one side of the tv stand there HAS to be a candle on the other side to balance it out OR it has to be put perfectly in the middle if only one candle. 😛 I'm very anal about things being symmetrical. Towels have to be folded in perfect squares... if not refolded.
It's sounds like alot of work but I've always been this way. I don't know anything different til someone comes into my home and mentions how much of a neat freak I am.

No its not abnormal but she took great pride in its organization lol.

I'm VERY anal about symmetry and perfect edges / corners lol. Its as of it JUST doesn't fit unless its in that state.

But, aren't Virgos supposed to be the neat freaks though?

You know we had a discussion about this same topic a few months ago. It's all about OUR own organizational system. Even if its sloppy, its perfect in its own way JUST TO US.

You know what sucks the most about being so orderly? I have to do everything by myself because nothing is up to my standard. Aries is great at offering to help BUT he isn't as nit picky as I am so instead of ordering him around or bitching at him about doing it MY way I just do it myself. He takes out the trash. lol That's it. AND I've had to bite my tongue at exactly where he puts the trash. (O)!!
I guess it means I'm not a lazy person but it does drive me up the wall that have to take so much time to get things the way I want them. I will literally lay awake in bed (lose sleep) if I know something isn't up to standard with me. I just can't let things go sometimes.

"Life is what happens when you're making other plans."

Exactly. I reconize that I'm too uptight but have no way of knowing how to go about changing it.
BTW I know you were talking about grocery shopping P but that hit home for me in my anal ass ways. 😛

P, interesting question to throw out at you but it may be bit personal so don't answer if it feels as such. What about your husband? What's he ANAL or very specific about? Does he have the "THINKING MAN's / MEAN LOOK" like the rest of us? lol

May I add...

I turn all the labels to forefront, so it can be read what's inside. That is in the fridge, cupboards, My laundry detergent, dishwashing liquids, anything!... the labels are to be seen. I also hate to see soap stains on my soap dispenser. Forget about trying to walk around with wet hands and dripping water stains on my floor.

So when I go shopping and the label is turned backwards of an item on the shelf, I turn it right and think... hm they'd sure like hiring me here... he he.. hope no one saw me doing that, they may start asking questions where everything is.

I used to get surprised how a Virgo man can make himself a busy body for re-arranging my things. Never knew it was to get reaction 😛... hm.. now I know... I was like "Don't Touch This!" and put it back to where I had it initially.

Sometimes he came with quite some beautiful design ideas on how to place things -- I guess I can admit that: V-man and beauty go together.
