One-forty in the am, and I got no clue where I'm headed. Stepped out in to the cool morning air, lit a fresh lucky and tried to clear my head.

Can't hang here though,too damn quiet, and too damn dark.I need the fading energy of a late friday night winding down. Drunks staggering home. Party survivors collapsing into the corner booth of some all night second-rate restaurant and the random trashed motorist howling out of their window at me on their way to a secret rendezvous with a toilet bowl.

I walk past it all, past it, around it, right through the middle of it, feeding on it like a vampire, but never letting it consume me in return.And I keep on walking, past darkened alleyways and poorly lit cafes, snapping my hat brim down aginst the lightly falling rain.

I just need a little solitude, you know, no big deal. Everyone needs a little space now and then, even her. Oh yeah, there's this dame, forgot to mention it, but hey it's always about a dame ain't it? Oh it's not like that, really, between her and I. She's a sweet doll, but me an her we ain't ever going to be an item. There's this joe see and well never mind, her and I we are friends, nothing else.

It's just she got me thinking, that's all, dames will do that to you. Guys, we like action, but them dames they all live in their heads. Everything's a soap opera with them, like they can't live without conflict. Drinking rumors like soda pop and eating drama like candy. I mean I'm sure there are some that don't like that stuff, just I ain't never met them is all. Anyway, just thinking outloud that's all.

Hey, I know this place. I'll be damned, dxp.Look at this place, looks just like the last time I saw it, place ain't changed a bit. My favorite spot, corner of 'Bash' and 'Don't Bash' right smack in the middle of the Virgohood.

Guess I'll a take a spot here by the lightpole, see if anyone I know is still around. Thought I saw some hot looking brunette skirt dressed like a flamingo dancer but then maybe I'm just tired.

Damn!, my lighter's soaked, anybody awake around here? anybody...
