Virgo woman denied my kiss, still hope?

I am a male cancer sun with a virgo rising and an aries moon. For a few years I've been heavily crushing on this virgo girl, who's got a lot of leo in her natal chart.
For years she's been seeking and holding eye-contact a lot, even though we didn't really know us back then. And when she smiles at me, I saw in her eyes, that she is into me.
Six months ago, when I pretty much confessed my love to her. I think I overwhelmed her, because she said that she really likes me, but she's only interested in friendship. I lied and replied, that I also see us as friends.
In the last few months we met a few times and we connected on such deep level, that I was literally blown away.
Yesterday I leaned in for a kiss, and she rejected my politely, by saying, that she already told me, that she's only interested in friendship.
Sure, I should probably move on, but both from experience and astrology I am convinced that we are the perfect match.
My theory is that being a virgo, I scared her by confessing my love. And then by saying I also see us as friends she didn't even see me as a potential partner.
Do you think, that if I would befriend her now, and give her time to get to know me a little better, there is still a chance for us?
