Aaliyah Dana Haughton, better known as Aaliyah, was an American singer, actress, and model. She was born on January 16, 1979 in New York City under the zodiac sign of Capricorn.
She has helped to change the way contemporary popular music, R&B, and hip hop are made. The singer's debut album sold a lot of copies. It was double platinum in the United States and sold three million copies. Aaliyah died in an airplane accident in the Bahamas in 2001.
