Ending the relationship

I’m hoping you could help me. I’ve been friends with an Aqua man for ten years. I’ve been the one to reach out, and generous with my time and money. He has never returned the favor and I’m done. What is the best way to end the friendship? I’m deeply distraught over it ending, but I don’t want to be taken advantage of anymore. He has commented to others about how much he likes me, but I don’t see it and don’t want to put up with his behavior anymore. How would I get through to this Aqua that he hurt me and that’s why my behavior is changing? I don’t want to emotionally ice him out or lead him to believe this is some theatrical nonsense because I’m sensitive.

Thank you. Wouldn’t have stayed friends with him for so long if he was any other sign. Ugh. I love Aqua’s quirks🥺

10 year is a long time. Maybe he doesn't even realize his behavior is hurting you. Just be honest about it.

This is exactly what I needed to hear. My cancer moon is off sobbing in the distance wondering what I could have done to save this, but I’m so over this whole thing. Thank you to everyone who responded. I’ll let him know tonight. He is so awkward and sensitive...I’ll have to be quick and to the point so I don’t get sucked back in.
