Aries is called the ?Prince of the Celestial Signs.? This sign was considered of first importance to many of the ancient nations, and a great wealth of legend and lore surrounds it.

In Grecian tradition, Aries was the fabled Ram with Golden Fleece. Traditions of Egypt and other old nations of the East record when the beginning of the year was marked with the sun and moon entering Aries.

In the Zodiac of the ancient Hebrews Aries was the sign of Gad. In the Chinese Zodiac Aries was known as ?The White Sheep.?

Aries is the house of Mars. In the human body this constellation governs the head and face.

It is a fortunate and masculine sign. The diamond and bloodstone are the natal gems of Aries subjects; the natal flower the violet.

This sign stands as the Capstone of the twelve signs of the Zodiac and is also the head of the Fire Trinity; Mars, the ruling planet, gives to these subjects extraordinary character. They are highly noted for their executive ability, aggressiveness, quickness in thought and action, great push of energy, and for their enthusiasm, earnestness, originality, courage and determination they stand without equal. Aries people are absolutely fearless in opposition, and they go through life, overriding all obstacles as they march on to their goal; hence they rise to the emergency of every occasion. Like the Ram, Aries people desire to be in the lead, and are the natural commanders and rulers, feeling it their privileged duty to command all those about them, no matter whether it be in the business world, politics, love or religion.

They are inclined toward public life rather than private. In review of the world's history, we find some of the greatest leaders, as well as some of the most revered and renowned people, born under this influence, of which the late J.P. Morgan is an excellent type; also Joseph Pulitzer and General Booth, Charles M. Schwab and Dr. Charles H. Parkhurst are also Aries subjects, as well as Dr. S. B. Hartman and ex-Governor James M. Cox of Ohio.

There are two types of people born under this sign. One is tall, with broad shoulders and a strong, well proportioned body of powerful frame, although many are inclined to slenderness, and usually have a high, broad, well rounded forehead. They have a fair complexion with sandy or dark hair. These people are usually drawn toward intellectual pursuits.

Being extremely generous, they are continually seeking to do good to others, but are not at all careful to discriminate between worthy and unworthy objects of charity; thus they do not amass wealth as easily as do the shorter ones.

The other type is short and of robust build, with dark hair and swarthy complexion. They have excellent business ability and are prolific in making money, and are successful in all commercial lines. They are somewhat headstrong, impatient of restraint or criticism and utterly heedless of advice.

While there are differences of temperament between tall and short Aries people, they are all subject to the same mental influence, and many characteristics are common in both.

The countenances of Aries people indicate a strong perceptive faculty. They have a clear, penetrating eye, heavy eyebrows, pointed features, and there will likely be found bumps, moles or warts on some part of the head, face or body. Their fingers are too thick for fine detail work.

Notwithstanding the natural desire of Aries people to rule and command, they are noble, charming and attractive; also sympathetic, tender and warm-hearted, magnetic and progressive.

They are fond of music and dancing, also love harmony, order and beauty in all things. Their tastes are likely to be luxurious, being at their best amidst elegant surroundings, and when leaders in social pleasures. They are generally considered wealthier than what they really are; perhaps the reason for this is that they are good dressers and have a commanding appearance.

The great majority of these people are deeply interested in occult and metaphysical studies. Many renowned Psychometrists, Telepathists, Mindreaders and Spiritual Advisors come out of this sign. The clairvoyant and psychic powers often being so phenomenally great that they can read the minds and know the motives of others without the exchange of a single word; and often know the troubles and cares that are weighing on the minds of their friends. When in a highly developed state, many mysteries of the spirit world are revealed to them, for Aries people are ever surrounded with occult, magnetic and solar forces of which they little dream, which forces are often so great that these people have the power to banish the woes and cares of the multitude.

This sign, ruling as it does over the brain, the intellectual development is sometimes phenomenally great. These people are the deepest thinkers of all the signs, and possess marked literary ability, having the power of imparting to others much of their knowledge. They are brilliant scholars, and are, as a rule, excellent conversationalists, and through their brilliancy and genial wit they charm and attract other to them. Having bright and vivacious minds and excellent memories, they can readily converse on many subject with which they seem perfectly familiar, and are never at a loss for a variety of conversation and are never happier than when providing entertainment for their friends.

Aries people are apt to wear out their thought power, from the fact that everything they come in contact with, it seems, must pass through the crucible of the intellect, and they usually fill their minds with too much of many things at the same time.

When they become engaged in politics or reforms they show unusual activity in the interest of public welfare. But they are bitter in their attacks upon their opponents, and relentlessly pursue them until they have achieved their desires. They enter every battle to win and will never acknowledge defeat; should they lose, disappointment is very great.

These people fight for their rights, and have strong and pronounced convictions as to what is right or what belongs to them, and would much rather destroy an article than surrender it. In the courts they will fight as long as there is anything left for the lawyers to fight over.

They insist on absolute independence in everything they do and become unreasonably irritated at the slightest intimation or restriction or even disapproval. Their natures are perceptive rather than reflective, and their spirit delights in adventures.

Aries people are very determined and set in their ideas, and will resort to any honest scheme to carry their point and accomplish their ends. Yet they are rarely if ever unjust, and seldom hold a grudge against even their bitterest enemies. But once their confidence is lost, it is very difficult to regain it. They deal in the truth and are quick to see the folly in the prevarications of others.

Aries people are excellent advisors, and, as a rule, they have many friends who have confidence in their judgment; for they are quite capable of brushing away the cobwebs of antiquated ideas from the conservative minds of those who have been content to leave good enough alone.

These are the people who are willing to die fighting for a friend or a principle. They will stick to their friends even if the whole world is against them, and can seldom see a fault in their friends. The more others criticize, the more they like them, and while they'll forgive them, yet they will not forget an injury.

Aries people, being at the head of the Zodiac, often conceive and begin things which they never finish. This is on account of their remarkable quickness of perception in grasping an idea, but being so enthused over a newer one, which has just come into their minds, causes them to neglect and even forget the object of their earlier inspiration. Pisces people, being at the feet of the Grand Man, are just the reverse of this, and not only complete their own work, but have a desire to complete that which others leave unfinished. And so Pisces merges into Aries and the circle becomes united.

Aries people are always alert and longing to engage in new and great undertakings, but for some reason the results are never quite up to their expectations.

In delineating the characteristics of any class of people, and in endeavoring to show them the paths of honor and success to which Astrology points, it is essential that they should be warned of the inherent elements of discord and evil in their natures. And so the Aries people, as well as all others, must be told of the faults and weaknesses of that are likely to be theirs, and warned of the pitfalls they may encounter.

The principle defects in the character of Aries people are impatience, anger, stubbornness, selfishness, foolish generosity, and fickleness of purpose. They are not revengeful but very slow to forgive. Egotism is another fault, and leads them sometimes to talk about themselves, their possessions and accomplishments. Jealousy, in Aries women, often mars what would otherwise be a most charming character.

Now, in all this list of shortcomings, there is not one that cannot be forever eliminated by serious cultivation of the higher nation, and by permitting it to dominate the lower in every circumstance.

Aries people should cultivate patience. And by ?patience? they should understand not only the capacity to wait with composure for the working out of their plans, but the broader patience which bids us bear with the weaknesses of others, and with disappointments and vexations. This will prevent their fiery outbursts of anger and their intolerance of all who cannot agree with them. Countless numbers have made failures of their life's work because the value of impatience was unknown.

The cultivation of the spirit of true charity will enable them to do good more wisely, and will aid also in acquiring the virtue of patience.

Application they must learn, too, and concentration. ?Keeping everlastingly at it brings success,? and this means concentrated application of one's energy to one thing at a time.

These people love arguments, but as they are often sarcastic, critical and overbearing, they make many enemies on account of their forcefulness.

The women of this sign, no less than the men, aspire to rule and to lead the van. They do not know the value of money, but consider as a means to an end. Consequently they are the greatest spendthrifts, simply throwing money right and left, in the desire to astonish or entertain or outshine others, so long as they can get hold of it. This desire to be considered leaders finds expression in their dresses, jewels and equipages, and good positions in any assemblage.

While Aries people as a class are generous, with many ambition overrules their generous impulses. They are very impulsive, irritable and quick-tempered, yet they soon emerge from their passion. The moment the storm has subsided, they immediately expect their harsh and bitter words to be forgotten, without the slightest admission that they had been hasty or wrong in their judgment. They cannot stand to be contradicted, teased or tormented, nor do they like to be told of their faults.

They can never hope to rise to any great height in the world until they learn self-control, for surely God will not give power to those who have not as yet gained the mastery over themselves in the control of their appetites and passions.

Aries people should remember that the physical body is influenced to a greater or less extent by the occult laws, magnetic currents and solar forces which to a large degree affect the lower or animal nature if they so permit them, and thus retard their progress; therefore, it is of great importance that they strive and aspire to live a clean and chaste life and cultivate the higher qualities of the sign.

As a rule they have unusual executive ability, of which they are fully aware, and having great confidence and self-esteem, they are apt to overestimate their powers and become too enthusiastic and even reckless in their desire to succeed. This has, in many instances, been the hidden reef on which many a person of this sign has wrecked his life.

These people, lacking in system and method, often pile up debt mountain high; then, when a failure or a crisis comes, this being a mental sign and ruling the brain, they worry until they are on the verge of nervous prostration.

It is the cultivation of the intellect, and the spiritual side of their lives alone that will enable them to reach their highest attainments; with such cultivation they may amass great wealth and achieve high honor and distinction.

A certain time each day in the life of an Aries person should be set apart for silent meditation on the serious subjects of life. This time should be given over to deep searching of the inner self, to earnest effort to fix the mind unwaveringly upon the purity of truth that leads to glorious heights. In a solitary walk in pleasing, quiet places, where one will be free from distracting influences, will be found an excellent opportunity for meditation and self-communion.

The cultivation of a quiet, calm and tranquil state will give them power to rise to the lofty heights which are theirs by right of birth. It is advisable that they cultivate these powers, for with them they may attain the greatest things in life. They should study mysticism and kindred subjects, for they are remarkable gifts and worthy of development, and should not be permitted to lie dormant within them. The cultivation of these gifts will give them wonderful force and power, which will enable them to influence and control all those with whom they come in contact.

When Aries people strive to eliminate their faults, and advance to the higher planes of life and conduct, they are assured of the most powerful assistance, and they should invoke this assistance by rigorous self-communion, by constant efforts to give their better natures fully sway, and by contemplation of the great truths of science and nature.

If they will assimilate the great truths taught by the science of Astrology, resolve to possess themselves of their heaven-sent heritage, and resolutely turn from the weaknesses and faults that threaten them, they can win success beyond measure; honor, esteem, position, power, health and love will be theirs without limit.

They should search their own hearts for the source of all evil, and then quietly and silently cast it out, before they can ever hope to become magnetic and powerful, for surely none of can enter upon the righteous path that leads to power until we have first removed evil from our hearts.

It is exceedingly advisable that those of this sign cultivate their mentality and intuition, for with proper development here is no limit to the greatness and heights to which they may rise; indeed, it is almost impossible to secrete anything from the Aries people who have once recognized their power of intuition. Develop the gifts of the spirit, and then grasp all, are the words as they have fallen from the lips of the Sages and Seers of the Far East, which is particularly adaptable to those of this sign.

Very sound observation indeed. I think thatz the key...and thatz where Aries need to find an anchor. Unfortunately they are the most whimsical in this department only. Perhaps they feel vulnerable and the feeling that they may lose leads to erratic behavior...A self-defense mechanism kinda. I think what they need the most is constant care and reassurance so that they can put their fears to rest. If they can surmount this mental block and evolve , no goal will be too far.

As far as career puruits, I am the tall, strong, broad shouldered type, but I don't neccessarily want to engage in intelectual persuits, unless becoming a soldier, protective security specialist, then SWAT cop is intellectual. Yet again, sometimes you have to think before you shoot. If I ever get good enough, I wouldn't mind being a tactical firearms instructor, if you want to call that intellectual. It's teaching afterall.
