There is more to than meets the eye

Dear fellow Ariens,
As you all know, most of the time we are carefree ... smiley .. cheerful .. and go getters .. but ...
doesn't it just drive you nuts when some people judge you based on that attitude and assume that just because you don't seem bothered with stupid things that bother them, that you must be lacking intellect or the sort? ... seriously ... I think some people fail to observe that we are way smarter than them, those stupid asses, just because we do things while giggling and having fun ... it doesn't mean we are mentally disabled ...

My boss told me today ... "you are actually smarter than you may first appear" ... I was laughing inside of my head thinking "good morning .. how long did it take you to figure that out? ... a year? ... oh wait ... give a second here ... let me find you a golden star .. where do u want me to stick it? on your forehead"

Not just that ... he cant see that the other person he empolyeed 5 months after I started is totally stupid and hopeless ... he still cant see it ... I would love to see how long that'd take him to figure out ...

But anyway ... he is one of so many ... and i hate it ... i hate it when people try and explain trivial things ... and I am just thinking "you freaking serious?" ... I just let them go on ... let them feel better about themselves ... haha ... they think they know more ...

What do you guys think?

My fiance is very much capable and smart. But I have to say, there is a certain lack of foresight that makes Aries appear less than they are. Let it appear that way. It'll be to your advantage when facing an enemy.

Yeah bluemoon I am not gonna change for anyone 🙂 ... I also get the same reaction from my managers, everywhere I've been they all wanted me to stay, because those who look closer can see that I can do a better job than most in even a shorter time. But lately I've been surrounded more and more by those sort of people, maybe it has a lot to do with working in the government sector? .. you know slow system and slow people ... maybe they assume everyone is slow like them ... meh ...

You know bluemoon .. You made a very interesting point .. There is one of the seniors who really despises my happy attitude, boy he hates it, and like you said he is that kind of gloomy negative person (he is a libra) .. Everytime I talk to him he has to make a problem out of nothing, in fact he's done it today and it really made me consider changing job. I go and ask him about something that I needed his opinion on, he asked me to go over to his desk and discuss it, so I did, I always sound enthusiastic .. So what he tells me is "you need to learn some manners" .. What the hell? .. I told him "there isn't anything wrong with my manners, i didn't come to talk to so you can criticize me" .. He was like "I am not criticizing you, but you need to learn some manners" .. And I was like "I do have manners, and during this time you spent criticizing you could have answered my question" .. He kept on going and trying to get others to agree with him .. I just took the papers I was gonna discuss with him and told him "you know what? Forget it" .. You see there was nothing wrong with my attitude when he started talking, but when he was being disrespectful, I wasn't gonna take with a smile on my face .. And the funny thing, after that he got all pissy because he realized what he said doesn't have a negative impact on me, so he calls over to my manager (who sits near him ad was aware of what happened) and ask him to go and talk to him somewhere .. And what's funnier is my manager comes back and tells me that he told mr. Grumpy that what he did was wrong .. But asked me to be less enthusiastic when I go and deal with mr. Grumpy. But seriously, this isn't the first time he causes fuss over me being cheerful, even if it has nothing to do with him sometimes.

One of the problems you may be facing, and maybe not fully recognizing, is that with your direct approach you are attempting to actually solve problems. Your boss that you mention above may actually be threatened by the idea of solving any given problem. Much easier to deal with, or more correctly, fail to deal with, the same old problem time after time. New is not good for lots and lots of people. The old "The Devil I know...."


This is also one of the reasons people view Aries as "stupid." We just don't understand that we need to keep beating this dead horse, rather than actually create a solution. We just don't understand how important it is that we stay within the safety cones, you see.

Thanks spica 🙂 .. But we don't really do that as strategy, it's more like work smarter not harder and we don't stress about stupid things, but yeah only smart people can manage to see that we are anything but stupid.

It's actually funny that I surprise people although it usually doesn't have anything to do with intelligence (basically they view me as smart on the get go).

Since I'm also a Cancer rising people seem to be taken by surprise with my silly and often times cheery personality when they actually get to know me.

Btw, I remember coming across you in the Libra room and stating that Saturn in Libra would expand gay marriage due to the opposition with Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn. You said that weddings would stay traditional or something to that effect.... O_o

Yes Straight people would still have weddings. Gay people.. there'd be more of them now, because it's the age of Aquarius and Ages are greater than Saturns 🙂. People have more freeedom and very likely gay marriages may come to fruition (sort of a marriage between age of aquarius and saturn in Libra)

Probably more often then I realize.

I got fired from a job because my employers didn't realize that I have a brain. Er laid off, whatever they wanted to call it. whateves it was dead end and min wage anyways.

When it comes to writing/speaking, I can impress anyone. Almost every major application I've filled out I have received whatever I was applying for. I was amazing on debate team in hs, my team hated me because I would always get first place, even the first time I did an event. They had to actually practice for a year or two first 😛.

Some of my teachers thought that I was mentally retarded. Unless they gave me a real writing assignment. Then they would think I was a talented plagiarizer 😄.

My mom didn't think I was going to graduate hs.

Whatever, I carry on my marry way. My bf realizes my inherit genius 😛

I HATE THAT, this stupid hoe in my anthropology class was fighting with me over the fetus bone saying that it was a left femur while i found that it was the right femur, so she made a whole scene, then when she left my professor came up to me took the bone, looked at it and confirmed that i was actually correct.. i just let her mouth run while i kept doing my thing..

I hate when people (just like u described) try to explain every little thing to me as if im stupid, i just cant wait for them to shut up im about to expload so i usually interrupt them and keep asking what i really need to know, once a lady over the phone was explaining to me what a resume was, with an attitude, i actually told her to stop giving me attitude and to tell me what i really need to know and then i asked her for her name and called and complained on her. Also i once went to the apple store and they refused to change my USB cable so the bitsh here in NYC SOHO apple store kept telling me and explaining to me stuff that its a physical damage, and while she was talking and talking i just turned around and walked away, i cant stand ignorant people.. thats why some people may find me rude, because i always interrupt, but i CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, my mind just LITERALLY shuts off to that bullcrap and i ask something else i need to know.

I'm everything that meets the eye and more. I don't pretend I'm something that I'm not. None of the facets of me are hidden: I'm brave, bold, fearless. I don't hold my cards close and wait for the right moment to take action; because there is no other time than NOW. Some may call it naive. But, it's our naivete that makes the Aries great. We do all the things that the world around us labels as "impossible" then we thumb our noses and do it anyway.
I don't really like Lady Gaga but I like her quote that she constantly does things that everyone says can't be done. I can relate.
As far as people thinking we are not smart, this arises from the Aries call to action. Sitting around philosophizing, mulling over the state of the world, complaining is not something I can do for long. At some point I have to jump in, solve the problem, get the job done, and on to scaling the next mountain.

Totally agree, sick of people talking bullshit and wasting time, they don't realise they are talking bullshit. It's crazy. It's what's in their head all day long, their own thoughts bullshit. What a way to live.

You know those quizzes about which house in harry potter universe do you belong to? All people always guessed that I'm a Gryffindor and they seemed so confused when I told them I actually belong to Ravenclaw house 90% of the times. I guess we rarely look like the intelligent type for people who don't understand us well LOL.

I managed to got into the best college institution in my country, and the look of my friends and teachers when I told them about it? PRICELESS. None of them expected it since my study in high school were normal. I've never been one of the top 3s in class. But I never cheat when it comes to exam. And really, I'm confident enough that I could be in the top 3s in class if I took my study more seriously and not just playing around. :p I just didn't feel the need to. And I felt superior after knowing even the girl who got the first place in class was cheating on final exam and only managed to get into local university. 😆 She hated me in highschool, that's why it was so satisfying to prove to her that I'm smarter than her lololol

Hey fellow aries, It's actually fairly common. The good thing in that you caught them off guard with that. I had same experience many times with clients, and made nice friendships through that.

Well, it's true. On the side note, aries also fussy where to concentrate energy hence this as mentioned in few comments here too, upon some bullshit they just turn around and leave. That is in most cases because we see zero intentions from the other party to cooperate or compromise in intelligent fashion. We don't like to put others down unless someone showing off without backing up their shit. In that case challenge accepted and give them their own medicine. Unfair, disrespectful treatment never tolerated. When you tell them in their face, suddenly get offended or caught by surprise you actually gave them the dose. Those whom intelligent people are not pushing buttons of others. One of my client was very high position buisiness man, after few days I worked on his property we started talking about life and causality, bridging to science, he said he surprised on my intelligence and we made good friends. He was calling me later on even to have a drink together and asked to keep the friendship. I like this type of people as they not select on class base agendas but recognise human values and intellectual conversations.

Wow really old thread lol I don’t have this problem.. ppl are always telling me how intelligent I am which is a huge compliment.. who doesn’t like compliments?
