Mars in Cancer and Confrontation

I think my bf hates confrontation so much, that he'll avoid the topic and act like nothing happened thinking everything will be ok. For example, he texts me telling me he's going to text me later in the day so he can pick me up and go out together. But he's only gonna pick me up if he gets his car insurance today. I said ok that sounds good. He never texts me back. I feel like he didn't text me back because he thinks I'll be mad that he didn't get the car insurance. Now I'm mad because he never texted me when he said he would. This makes me feel like he doesn't care. He can't even send a text saying "sorry babe I wasn't able to get it so I can't pick you up". Are mars in Cancer THIS afraid of confrontation??

sometimes i avoid confrontation for the sake of not dealing with it.

I feel like this is him majority of the time. Then I try to confront him about it to fix the issue and he tries to just blow it off, or he'll apologize right away to shut me up but then does it again. I think he thinks I wanna fight him all the time but I'm just trying to let him know that I don't like that sort of behavior and I wanna fix it.
