What counts as being harmless?
Exactly. There's no such thing as harmless. Those little white lies simply add up to one big one.
If I have money issues or lost a job, he would never know that.

This! I think white lies are unhealthy and harmful.
If you can't be who you are with someone then you're either with the wrong person or you need to rethink this whole lying business / who you are and why you want to lie.

Agreed...and so are half truths.
Mostly I don't lie about things, but I do tend to omit things. Like places I've gone during the day, harmless places - a walk in the park or the bookstore. Sometimes I just want those things to be mine.
