Cancer man - needs space — will he come back ?

Back story we have been dating, I’ve been trying to take things slow .. we have only been on a couple of dates but he has told me that I make so happy and everyone notices and much more he smiles now , he wants me to meets his friend which he invited me to a low key bbq, the last time we hung out he said he was falling me .. I took it in a joking way and said oh you are making me blush..

He messaged mid conversation a large text that seemed like it was meant for another girl..he then said he updated his Apple Watch and some how it re sent a message he sent to me a week ago..

Being the Leo I am I may of slightly over reacted and I told him I didn’t want to play any games if he was out here talking to other girls ..

I then back tracked and said sorry for over reacting but I think the damage was already there

He then sent me this

“I just really need to think about this, I’ve been in a relationship where I wasn’t trusted (while we ain’t in one) Nor gave any reason to not be trusted, and it ended up abusive, the girl I was with beat me, and would check my phone and constantly accuse me of things that just didn’t happen at all.

I can’t go through that again and while I know you’re a great person, just the reactive

message has kind of thrown me out of whack.

I mean what if we were to get together in the future, it was just a bit concerning to me “

I then said I understand if you can’t give me an opportunity to prove to you kind of person I am but I will respectively give you space ..

I am of course impatient and after 3 days messages a heartfelt message which he responded with

“I understand how you feel. I still need time to think about this. Thank you for giving me some space... I respect how you feel, and understand. But this has thrown a lot of alignment out from me and I need time to figure some things out”

Do I still just sit here waiting or am I wasting my time here 😢

Yes you are wasting your time.

Don't stay around to be punished for his ex's sins. Thats ish he should work out before trying to start a relationship with anyone.

Give him his time to think. He sure did flip it on you real quick! 😆

Just leave him alone and don't be clingy and he will be back, once you haven't paid attention to him.

He sent you a random message, not meant for you, and he still was able to flip it and make what you asked him about your fault lol

This is emotional manipulation, what Cancers do best.

Most things relating to how you make him feel, will not be his fault, but yours. Get used to it if you plan on dating him.

A girl beat him and looked through his phone. That's crazy that he is relating your small line of questioning to something as traumatic as this.

Part of the reason is because I can see right through the bullshit and don't handle them well. I'm very dismissive of this type of behavior, so I wouldn't give the proper response that they are looking for lol

I don't find it attractive, and it's a different style of showing emotions that is a turn off for me. It's like fake vulnerability, or playing victim. It just rubs me the wrong way, so I don't empathize well with it.

He went crazy on me and got angry for messaging him a good morning ..

I totally dipped on him best thing for myself .. Thanks for making me recognize the red flags
