What Is a Coconut Crab
A coconut crab is the largest terrestrial crab species, known for its ability to climb coconut trees and crack open coconuts. It is native to the Indo-Pacific region and is considered a land-dwelling crustacean with remarkable strength and adaptability.
lol that thing is huuuuge...can anyone say "crab cakes for 4"?
actually i read up on coconut crabs, they're widely consumed, so much so that in some places they are endangered. They eat coconuts and fruit so their meat is succulent and slightly sweet. It is crazy big tho.
Sorry, that was rude.
Reminds me, though, of the crab soup I had in S.C.
