Do y'all drink per day? And how active are you?

Posted by Mare-E-Sole
I haven’t measured, but about 1-2 liters a day (give or take).
Workout: 1-1.5 hrs a day
Walk: 30-3hrs a day
Stretch or yoga: 15-20mins a day
If it’s that time of the month, I don’t workout, I just stretch and walk.

2 liters when active, heavy labor in the sun for hours.
About 2 water bottles when not active.
I find most people drink more water than necessary. The recommended daily water intake includes any water, water in the food itself.

I'm almost embarrassed to say, but I average about a gallon a day. Yes, I'm living up to my start sign... chut up errebody!
Forms of my activity vary but I'm pretty much on my feet all day long. I have successfully annoyed plenty a person with my inability to sit still for more than 10 mins. I do try to get as much walking as possible as often as possible...anywhere between 7-8k steps per walk.
And weights every other day. About 45min to 1h if I'm in a mood for it.

Do you know if there's a way to measure water amounts in foods lolclick to expand

Same, I drink a gallon per day too! Just have to make sure to get enough sodium so that water doesn't flush vital nutrients out of your body too. That's definitely something I have to work on because growing up I didn't have much salt in my diet lol so I tend not to consume a lot of salt unless I consciously add it on or eat saltier foods (like beef jerky for example I guess).click to expand

Make sure it's iodinized salt! We, particularly here is the US, consume nowhere near enough iodide through our diet. As far as general salt consumption goes, I'm the opposite. It's like, I'll have some food with that salt. 🤦♀️click to expand

In which case make sure to supplement iodine unless you're consuming plenty of seaweed in which case you should be all set.
Sidenote, I need to stop mothering lol🤦♀️click to expand

No you're right, lol. I'm just deathly afraid of salt also because too much salt makes you retain water which adds to the scale 🤦🏻♀️ I have to work on my mindset when it comes to this stuff because it's not healthy lololclick to expand

Your concern is entirely understandable, but if you have healthy kidneys & consume enough water, you really shouldn't be experiencing much if any water retention. And if so, it should be only temporary. I think salt has been unfairly villainized. Even concerns for those with high blood preassure are addressing only superficial issues & removing salt is nothing more but a temporary solution. But I digress.
I get it thoguh. I think many of us femmes have been down that path of unhealthy relationship with a scale. Best thing I could have done for my sanity is to relegate weighing to a secondary position & instead focus on how I feel & how my clothes fit. I think once we set health as a primary objective, perception shifts & things tend to just naturally fall into place.click to expand

I agree. The only reason I'm hyper focused on the scale right now is because I'm reverse dieting so I'm trying to figure out what my maintenance macros are lol. But once I get those numbers I'm not really gonna care about the scale anymore as long as I stay on track with my macros for whatever I'm doing! And people do need a certain amount of sodium in their diet just for good health... I think I get my fear of it from my mom because she was always super careful about how much salt she put in the food she made for my family growing up. Have to figure out how to get over that.click to expand

Ahhh got ya! It's tricky, if not hard work, to rewire old habits/beliefs. My pops used to always say... to acquire a habit it is one trouble; to rid yourself of it, it is two (troubles). LoL. Do you think attempting to associate salt with something positive/beneficial might aid in that journey? Best of luck on your journey! It's all part of self-discovery really 🙌👍💫click to expand

Do y'all drink per day? And how active are you?

I always have two blisters of dehydrated water in my car, and a small one in my fanny pack. Very active, contrary to what one may believe

Some days I've had 4 litres! I track my macros so if I'm hungry but it's not time for me to eat yet I'll chug a lot of water lolclick to expand
