I havent taken it bit my 2 of my siblings did. My brother said he had bad thoughts and it chsnged his perceptions completely. He probably didnt need it tho. Its very strong and should be taken with great caution. Docs will give out any prescription and they dont care much for side effects. Plus everyone reacts differently and one day could have adverse reaction

This^^^^

Please be careful

It can have adverse effects

I stay away from any type of meds. Anyone I know on antidepressants end up being hardly functional around 55-60. It eats away at your mind. Slowly, but will have long term effects that get worse over time. In fact, I've noticed almost anything a doctor prescribes you is going to be bad long term. It's just going to be a quick bandaid, and will never be a guaranteed cure. Oddly enough the people I known that lived the longest in life take no meds, because truth be told it isn't about the doctors best intentions. They are forced to follow a guideline the fda, insurance companies, and the government itself make them follow. Tbh you staying alive and being healthy gives you more of a chance of gaining social security, which isn't in any of their best intentions.

I know that will make me look like a tin hat connoisseur, @LadyNeptune, but truth be told your social security doesn't go to your family if you happen to die. The government pockets 100% of it.

I totally agree with the medicine thing. I am the kind of person who would much rather ride out pain than take anything. I have been white knuckling depression and anxiety off and on for years using alternative methods to cope, but this time things just got really bad. I mean barely functioning bad . I just feel like this isn’t a time where I can fall apart there is so much that needs to be done/nurturered.the long term aspect definitely scares me

I had Naltrexone-Bupropion for one month. Naltrexone is used to treat alcohol and opioid addiction. Bupropion is an antidepressant used for SAD and to make people stop smoking. One of the few antidepressants that doesn’t make you fat.

So why did I used it, if I’m not an addict, or even a smoker? I used it to curb a “food addiction” aka healthy appetite, because I wanted to get rid of my last 5 lockdown pounds above my ideal weight. Shallow, I know, but it is prescribed for exactly this reason. I just had to lie about my weight to get it online.

It had no effect on my weight whatsoever. However, I initially liked how it made me feel. Very focused on my work ! Not surprisingly, since it increases the dopamine level in your brain. Also, mind blowing orgasms…this was really unexpected, since Naltrexone blocks the endorphins receptors! Endorphins is what makes you high, but it looks they are irrelevant for orgasm? Who would have thought. Meanwhile, I could not get high with alcohol. Had once two margaritas (for the vitamin C, lol) while on medication and felt so sick after, I still don’t feel like drinking margaritas ever again.

Despite the nice effects on my productivity and possibly mood, I had to stop it before finishing my box. I started seeing some floaters and bright lights on the corner of my left eye, and found that it could have been a side effect. They stopped occurring weeks after I stopped the medication.

What I would really like to try is magic mushrooms. I red amazing stuff about their role in treating depression, even after one doze. Plus other amazing side effects like feeling more connected with the nature and everyone else…

I hope they will become legal in the Uk sooner rather than later!

If you are in the US, drop the Prozac and go to Cali or Canada or wherever you can get some shrooms from a safe source…

I

Got none of those with bupropion

Maybe I need the combo

After gaining weight with one bupropion stabilized but did not lose weight or cravings.

If combo is needed I’ll ask my doc

Thank you everyone for your comments. Today is day two mostly noticing lack of appetite, yawning, and spacing out. I had a lot more energy today actually went to the gym for the first time in months but I still had to really force myself to go. But at least I didn’t have to force myself to shower. There was some reluctance but I mostly felt like doing it I don’t need such a big push like I normally would. Could just be in my head though going to keep documenting.

Nobody really needs antidepressants. I would recommend you a Mindful Self-compassion training from these people:

https://centerformsc.org/course-teachers-list/

My girlfriend is also a Libra/Scorp like you and MSC helped her (and myself) in giving the tools to be able to deal with any type of psychological pain, by yourself and only yourself. That, to me is the most powerful and empowering way.

Give it a try!
