I was with a friend yesterday who told me this story ... true one ... i found it very moving and amazed at how just a very small gesture can actually save someone < 3

A man had decided to commit suicide that night. He was walking home and stopped at the pedestrian crossing. Although the light was on green, the driver stopped and let the man over. As he looked at the driver, she gave him a warm smile as he walked to the other side of the road. The man went home and didn't kill himself. He told a friend that the smile meant everything to him and changed his way of thinking

*~*~*

Another true one ~

A man brought himself a brand new jeep. He had owned an old truck for years and was delighted with his new purchase. He lived up a hill and the jeep was parked in the driveway. One day his 18 year old son came home and asked his Dad if he could borrow the jeep as he was going on his first date. The Father said of course he could and gave him the keys. The son, pleased as punch, went out to the jeep but came back into the house shortly after. He said to his Dad that there was no gas in the car. His Dad said no problem and gave him 30 dollars so he could make his journey. The son went out to go on his date. Within a minute, he was back into the house in a state of anxiety. He told his Dad the jeep had gone! What transpired was, he had left the hand-brake off and the jeep had rolled down the driveway and dropped into a steep ravine at the other side of the road. The jeep was trashed. The son was distraught and overcome with apologies. He asked his Dad what could he do to make it better and his Dad said "here, you better take these* and threw the keys to the old truck to his son

The son told a friend how he spent a while crying his heart out in the truck, not just because he had lost the jeep, but because at that point he realized how much his Dad loved him

*~*

Both these stories made me cry .... it just proves love is unbelievably powerful

The first story damn!! I had a similar experience. I was ill.. Seriously ill.I wished to die. I thought I'd take death over it. Still painful if I think about it. I went to have my blood taken for a test that day. And there was this angel(fairy goddess call her anything) nurse who gave me the warmest smile in the world. Idk why but I teared up immediately. There was something very warm n kind about that smile which made me wanna stay. It felt like that was the only thing I needed to see then.

I like the sentiment but this reminds me of those goddam chainletters I get on fb messenger.

"Forward if you have a heart"
LOL!! Those are the worst!! I used to lash out at anyone who sent me those when I was younger.

I just saw a story on the morning news this mother lost her beautiful daughter to a heart attack trying out for basketball. Stuff like this happens a lot with young adults heart failing sitting sporting events.

Anyways she said losing her child was like losing her spirit for life, but she's used this moment to do something good. she started a funding project.

Every school in Tacoma including elementary schools all now have AEDs, defibrillator. So kids can be saved and she's also working on getting student athletes hearts tested at the schools.

I hope her efforts grow like wildfire and reaches Seattle schools

That's just amazing
I love that story....what an amazing woman

While few people crumble, few people rise. I once read in a mythology that god makes these kinda things happen to certain people coz he knows they're capable of doing great things like this one. And happening of such disastrous events is like a push for these people while for the other person(the girl who passed away in this case) ... It's his/her only purpose..to push the other person.

It's not so much a story, but when I was told this, my view on my mom changed. I was around 23 at the time and a brand new mom, I was told this.

My mom is your typical tiger mom. Didn't really show affection growing up, and showing emotions aren't her specialty. I grew up questioning her love for me, as any idiotic teen does. You only see the faults in people, and you think you know it all. So in my ignorance, I assumed, because she didn't say it all the time, she must not care as much. With age, I learned differently. But I still held some resentment. My aunt sat me down, and told me everything my mom did for me as a baby. She was barely 20, I was about 6 months old. My father was out of work, and they had no money to get formula for me. When that wasn't enough, my mom, the most prideful person I know, that refuses any help of any kind now, went around picking up pennies and loose change all over the ground. If that wasn't enough, she would do day labor type of things that would make most people cringe to do, for a few dollars. She would go hungry many nights, just to feed me and my aunt whom she was also taking care of. This woman, whom came to America at age 13, with no skill sets, to a foreign country. Worked her way up from nothing, and now holds a BA in chemical engineering and an MBA, as a single mom with no help. Someone who rose from poverty to wealth, all on the sheer willpower to be something greater. Someone I questioned if she loved me or not at times, got on her hands and knees in the beginning to make sure I was provided for. Something I could NEVER imagine her doing, because of her pride. I never question her love for me now, because everything she did in her life, was to insure, I got everything I wanted, she never did.

It does... happens more often than anyone

would think.

A woman I worked with-- happened to her son

same way, while playing basketball at school.

When the news ran a story about another

woman who had just lost her son the same

way, my coworker made it her business to

contact that woman to let her know that she

wasn't alone-- not everyone would do that.

Amazing stuff.

And yeah we have a defilibrator in the break

room-- government schools should be equipped

by law... hard to believe they aren't.

Well... maybe not considering our government

but yes I agree with you.

What on the break room. We need that too!

First time I saw one in public, it was in the Tax Collector's building

I thought it was due to the nature of the business being done lol

But they're everywhere.

And yeah, in the breakroom... we pay for it, though.

Safety and all that-- company's really big on Safety since we deal

with heavy machinery.

It's ridiculous how many people have died in the past two years.

Weird note... the TV said "last two years" as I was typing "past two years"

to you, cc lol

Weirdness. 😄

I was a very happy man. My wonderful girlfriend and I had been dating for over a year, and so we decided to get married. There was only one little thing bothering me…It was her beautiful younger sister.

My prospective sister-in-law was twenty-two, wore very tight miniskirts, and generally was bra-less. She would regularly bend down when she was near me, and I always got more than a nice view. It had to be deliberate. Because she never did it when she was near anyone else.

One day her ‘little’ sister called and asked me to come over to check the wedding invitations. She was alone when I arrived, and she

whispered to me that she had feelings and desires for me that she

couldn’t overcome. She told me that she wanted me just once before I

got married and committed my life to her sister.

Well, I was in total shock, and couldn’t say a word. She said,

“I’m going upstairs to my bedroom, and if you want one last wild fling, just come up and get me.”

I was stunned and frozen in shock as I watched her go up the stairs. I stood there for a moment, then turned and made a beeline straight to the front door. I opened the door, and headed straight towards my car.

Lo… and behold, my entire future family was standing outside, all clapping!

With tears in his eyes, my father-in-law hugged me and said, ‘We are

very happy that you have passed our little test. We couldn’t ask for a

better man for our daughter… Welcome to the family.’

And the moral of this story is:

ALWAYS KEEP YOUR CONDOMS IN YOUR CAR!!!
Haha, i heard that before, but it made me laugh again

Thanks!

🙂
