It's sort of a duh statement. Like, who doesn't like beautiful women?

Yeah. That's what I don't get with some women. They want you to tell them they're stunning but when you date them and tell them they're beautiful, they back off.

I never said that they cant admire my "beauty". But I dont want that to be the only reason he likes me. Like for instance when a guy tries to pick up on me at some random place, he's only going after me because my physical appearance. That's shallow. I dont want a guy like that. I like a guy who's deep and appreciate me for what's on the inside. He could tell me Im beautiful. If course, why wouldnt I like that if it comes from the man I love and he means it sincerely.

But the big question remains, why is this a turn-off?

depends on who makes the compliment

If a chubby nerd says "you are beautiful" then he is perceived as a needy creep

If a Ryan Gosling type of a guy says "you are hot" he is perceived as confident, charming and sexy

What if the chubby nerd is confident but the Ryan Gosling type of guy is insecure, will that shake things up?

The chubby guy will get appreciated for his confidence, nothing more nothing less, while Ryan will be still perceived as cute, cause he is so good looking yet a down to earth guy....soooo sexy. lol

Aww, I love when a man tells me I'm beautiful and he prefers his lady to be beautiful. I'm well confident without his remark, but it shows appreciation.

What kind of shitty mindset... if a chubby nerd tells me Im beautiful and he says it sincerely and innocently Id think it's cute. If any guy tells me Im hot no matter how hot he is, on to the next one. Im too old for that crap ?

I think every guy is sincere if he calls you beautiful yet you probably won't sleep with him (chubby guy) anyway.

Calling a woman hot with a little smirk on his face (Ryan guy), yep I think it will work a lot of times, no matter what women say. 😉

Why does it turn you off when a guy honestly tells you that he is into beautiful women?

It's kind of weird knowing that you spend lots of money and efforts to look good but you still end up saying "I don't like men like that; I want men who are not into pretty women but are looking for women with good attitude."

Bullcrap for women with no selfesteem.

Everybody into beautiful women!

I want to look beautiful for myself, cause it gives me confidence to look pretty. I dont do it for mere attraction.

But how would you know you're beautiful if no guy appreciates your beauty?

Why do we need a guy to say we are beautiful? This is a true fact: not every dude has the same taste.

We are beautiful the way we are, regardless. Not all women needs a guy to shower her compliments. Most women knows what the hell they have & what to offer.

Dont you think that this should be the rule of thumb?

Because it's shallow. If that's what you're looking for in a woman then you don't require much substance hence us being turned off... also we want you to like ONE beautiful woman. thats us, the one you're interested in.

If your complimenting a woman (or man) chose something that they control. Like a hair cut, glasses, or style of clothing.

Complimenting them on their eyes or face will always come off as shallow as it's something out of their control...they were merely born and are.

Not to mention ever female has heard that line, "your beautiful", way too much. It's overplayed and triggers rolling of the eyes instantly.

Also it's pretty obvious. Like when a dude tells you he likes music, ummm obviously...everyone does.

Just like everyone likes someone whose beautiful.

But it could mean he's emotionally open when he hears a song

That's an opening statement to an hour long conversation if you want it to be

The whole premise that men want someone unique is the biggest lie in history. I don't know anybody as unique as me.

Men want normal. They want someone who mixes well into society and won't give them lots of trouble

Men are very simple.

Well I like women who are unique.

You say that. But you're only one man

Most men go for women who are typical sociologically normal to the wider society in personality looks etc

Also most women think they're unique but they're not. For example @Teena not to pick on you. But there is nothing unique about you. You're pretty but your personality isn't a threat to a man or society. Most women are like this.

It's not a negative id do anything to feel normal

Exactly why I feel the compliment(or not) is pretentious?

Leo moon=shallow and proud

I like hearing my man call me beautiful, but not some stranger.

Your sitting at the bar and some rando comes over and his opening line is ..."I only like beautiful girls so I gotta get your number"

Meh, forgettable and pretty cringeworthy imo.

I be like really thank you. I have a boyfriend but i appreciate the compliment

I don't frequent bars ..

Bars, the gym, the grocery store...wherever dudes approach you.

I'm talking opening lines.

Hit me with something original. Something where I'm not just responding with 'thanks' so that a conversation will happen giving him an opportunity to ask you for your number and you the opportunity to decide if you want to give it.

Im pretty sure there'll be a few exceptions. Such as a young blonde guy in suits. SMH.

I already said in my other comment that if the guy is hot enough a female will be interested in anything he says, even if he has no game.

You need to be more clever than that.

For the record I don't like blonds.

kinda like "you're different than other girls"

bitch please

What the hell...LOL what guy says that ? That sounds a bit creepy

Mannyyyyy trust me—

I didnt know that's a turn off but it's often said with sincerity.

It's not a turn off Bunny.. neither is complimenting a girl. But idk why.. it's too predictable kind of or pretentious even.

But it isn't. I say it with sincerity. I mean it when I say it.

Yeah not saying you don't mean it. But I've seen it being thrown around a way too often. It's so forgettable ?

Right, it's old. Which is sad because guys look for someone they see unique and different from others. It isnt an ordinary and silly pickup line.

Right.What do you consider unique?

She's somebody I haven't encountered before. Abreath of fresh air.

Eh? We always encounter everyone for the first time ??

Tell me what's it that gives you this unique fresh feeling or tell me what is that you've seen so often that you don't wanna see anymore?

I easily get bored. I want someone that keeps me interested.

Also it's pretty obvious. Like when a dude tells you he likes music, ummm obviously...everyone does.

Just like everyone likes someone whose beautiful.

But it could mean he's emotionally open when he hears a song

That's an opening statement to an hour long conversation if you want it to be

Don't get me wrong...if he's cute enough I'll run with it, even if it's pretty tired material.

But firebunny doesn't have that luxury.

Hordes of women will disagree with you.

If that was true this thread wouldn't exist because you'd be too busy wading through pussy.

I friendzoned them. I have high standards. You fit in my standards (presumably because you don't show your face) but methinks you'll end up just like some of them.

Well just to end the mystery for you...it's never gonna happen bunny.

Refocus yourself on real life people. You need to pop your cherry. Can't stay a gold star forever.

Why does it turn you off when a guy honestly tells you that he is into beautiful women?

It's kind of weird knowing that you spend lots of money and efforts to look good but you still end up saying "I don't like men like that; I want men who are not into pretty women but are looking for women with good attitude."

I haven't heard it nearly enough

I could hear it a thousand more times and still be happy

And i guess I'm shallow i always complimented the leo on his face and smile

Nothing wrong with being shallow

I'm aware of what you look like.

And like I said, you need to be more clever. You can't rely on your inflated sense of self.

Then practice what you preach and come up with something more original than "I like beautiful people".

The whole premise that men want someone unique is the biggest lie in history. I don't know anybody as unique as me.

Men want normal. They want someone who mixes well into society and won't give them lots of trouble. They want someone very docile who can get along with their friends and family.

Men are very simple.

I agree but there is nothing wrong with being unique. It's just that there not too many unique women as far as I can tell. That's why men have lower standards and aim for less or are ok with a good looking nice girl.

And to add to your last sentence: men like women, who like them back
