lol, well know, its just the fact that ... I know I'm not *just right out of my teens young* but I'm like ... young and I feel like I shouldn't have stayed that freaking long. Holy cow, I was a baby working for those people.


That's why I say this to you Briana -- don't try to look on the brightside honey, when it comes to the workforce, the only bright spots are the ones you make. Please don't rely on the fact that your boss might just see 'something' in you because if and when they do, they will try to use it all up.

Yep, I say this from experience -- they will try to use every last bit of your hardwork up only if you let them.

God I hate complaining. I'm probably going to feel bad if I get my way. Lol

Jobs are hard to come by nowdays, so your boss could be crafty if you complain about your situation to someone above, she could say "hey listen if you dont like it, I know there millions of people unemployed I could just hire someone else for less money" I am not saying dont stand up for yourself just be careful. Since there has been broken promises coming from your boss, it could just keep happening. All I can say is keep your chin up, tough it out find a new job or stay and hope things change. Peace!

Was scheduled at 1 today. Came in, she was on a conference call. I acknowledged her so she couldn't say I was angry or being unprofessional.

She came up to me later and was talking to me about her personal life. Never once mentioned the letter. I think she was trying to play the sympathy card because she was talking about how her brother in law passed away...

I just listened and nodded. Said that's sad. She's been coming to me and asking me dumb questions since then. :/
She's testing me. I know how she works.

She asked my co-worker (the one that this is all over basically) if I was upset about the schedule...to find out if I talked to him about it. He said, yes, obviously... but it's not just her everyone is.

Apparently, according to him...last week he told her he needed to know if he would be getting his fulltime hours back or not because if not he would have to get another job. She told him not to worry, she was going to give him more hours! :/
& told him if he stayed with her and stopped taking vacations she would give him the most hours.....

That pissed me off even more. This is straight up favoritism. She's sweating this dude's nuts

I'm giving her until the end of the day today to talk to me about it. Then I'm going to my GM and just letting him know...because it's bad mgt

OMG, I can't stand this woman. Sorry, Bri, I know you said shes nice, but damn the way she's acting it seems like she went on some message board (albeit not one with highly intelligent and evolved people as this one) after reading your letter and asked for advise on how to handle it! She had no business talking to anyone else about your situation!!

I agree with you on her using the sympathy angle..this lady seems like a crackpot. She thinks you're going to back down about your position on this to coddle her. EFF that!

Keep in mind that you used the proper channels and handled yourself with more professionalism than she did.

The engineering director here is like my second dad...he asked me how my schedule was this week and I briefly told him what was going on. He said my GM is already aware of the problem because the DOS at the new hotel he's at has been telling him.

UPDATE

before my co-worker left, yes "travel boy" lol, he says to me: "Bri, I just want to apologize to you..." I'm like for what?
He goes "for coming back and causing you all these problems."

*rolls eyes*

I was like, it's not your fault, it's just bad management. I said I'm glad you came back, you're one of my favorite co-workers (which is true.) Them putting you on schedule should not affect my schedule. It's wrong that it is. She wanted you back on schedule, she needs to make it work where both of us have hours then. The end.

PS she's still avoiding talking to me about it...

She is the assmosis though yes. 😄

She has to be assmosis because she sucks at management and everyone knows it.

Which is why if she ignores me & my letter I will take my happy ass to my GM and he will get an ego boost from it because he thinks he's the world's greatest manager as it is and will look at it like "look, they miss me already over there."

He's always got something to say. No matter what you do, you didn't do enough, or you did it wrong. He's very very arrogant. He makes comments just to make them. There's no constructive criticism...just nitpicking and bullying. He's condescending and petty.

Very nosy too...gets in everyone's personal business. Full of double standards. He has that typical "it's great to be king" attitude.

I can't stand the SOB (obviously) But he's pretty consistent and predictable. Not one to play favorites really.
& he's easy to reason with. He's just the type that will will push it as far as you let him.


Oh and I'm pretty sure he knows he's obnoxious he just doesn't care because he thinks that's just the hard part of being in management...you're not a good manager unless you're intimidating people and/or making them hate you.

I have a way easier time with managers that at least say SOMETHING than the dopes who just sit by and let the whole place fall apart (like everyone in management at my company...which also recently went corporate) because they're too afraid of rocking the boat.

I realized long ago that they will never move me into management where I'm at because I'd tell them what they're too afraid to hear.

I got my way. 🙂

After the Scorp pretty much blew me off and avoided me for almost a week, my GM was at the hotel and was dropping hints giving me a chance to tell him what's up (since he already knew.)

So I talked to him and he told me he agreed 100% with me and would back me up by personally making sure I got the hours and shifts I wanted because I deserve it over anyone else up here.

The Scorp was complaining to me today about travel boy's attitude. Lol.........just wow.
I just smiled and nodded. She said he comes to her daily and tells her he wants hours but then bitches about the shifts he's scheduled and has a bad attitude while working - not giving her a reason to get more hours in other words.

Which is why I was so pissed when she did what she did because I thought we were cooler than that.
I know it's work, and it's not personal....but when someone is so personal with you and then does what she did it's more offensive for some reason.

& travel boy is not into her at all. There's only like a 6 year age difference between him and her son. :/
I doubt she would ever really pursue him...she's married and all that. But I know she absolutely adores him and if circumstances were different she'd be all over it.
