Are you comfortable calling people by their nicknames?

Like you met someone and became very good friends, lets say you know each other for a year, but are hesitant to call them by their nickname which their close friends call them. But you feel like they will be comfortable with you calling them. But you just keep a distance and keep it formal.

I got a few in the past and didn't mind at all being called them

Kind of cool

I was with a guy who had a very long surname and he used to get called Mr Alphabet

It made him laugh

Depends what they introduced themselves as, I usually stick to that.

But I give people my own nicknames when I know them well enough.

Depends what they introduced themselves as, I usually stick to that.

But I give people my own nicknames when I know them well enough.

What if the other person got to know your nickname indirectly but doesn't know whether you will like it calling you by that name?
