At what age would you like to stop working?

Posted by geminicandle
I would do hobbies, dxp, internet, volunteer here and there, read, school, travel, soul searching, etc...
Now had you asked what age I wanna stop schooling?
I'd say never!!
I seriously have been in school for 28 years now🙂

How about teaching then?
Only if it is at some cute little university where I can have frequent coffee breaks and flexible schedule.click to expand

His philosophies are indeed quite good. I don't really care how much money he made but he brings up some interesting ways to make it.
He does make some really good points about about money and investing. Matter of fact he prepared me for the economic down turn. He talked about it in a book that he published in 2001.
80 million ain't bad at all, I just think that he exaggerates himself a little bit. He is an Aries after all.click to expand

@ watercup,
In summation, the white individuals believe in saving and taking responsibility for the future at an individual rate.
The blacks basically believe in enslaving each other as financial burdens to ine another via "family" connections. If said family rejects them as moochers, then what? I suppose it's government assistance and ultimately the US taxpayer who pays for it all.

i own my own business and got people out there working for me. therefore i can just kick back and unwind, don't have to go out there in all that heat and break my back and get my hands dirty and STILL get paid :;. AND recieving disability. now to answer the question, i think 40 is a good age for retirement.
I thought you were a girl?click to expand

With American blacks maybe (I don't know)- that's not how things work with African blacks & our government assistance is not THAT kind in that regard. Africans carry a lot of family responsibility & would not allow their families to be under government care while their own is working for a living. Many of the people I know send money to their parents every month, even if they're married & families of their own.
My god, are you really taking a statement made by ScorpioFish seriously. You obviously don't read his posts regularly. He's a raging lunatic. I keep him unblocked simply for the amusement. He doesn't even get the benefit of the doubt from me any more.click to expand

Lmao. I know SF's posts very well & I'm sure he was baiting me with that one. I personally don't care what's said about black people in general cause I know my people are the "do it yourself" kind of people. People in Africa especially, don't need the government to have homes (they build their own mud houses, straw houses & shacks). They don't need the government to eat (if there's a patch of soil, they plant or collect wild plants to eat etc).
All good points. 🙂 Eek. I'm in one of my "too honest" moods today. Probably time to log out. Haha. Enjoy your 4th of July WC.click to expand

But one thing thou, you guys left Africa years ago, but Africa is still there- the lip smacking/tongue clicking when one is annoyed is an African thing & so are the facial expressions and the hand gestures etc.
Exactly. Which is why I can't understand why people get so up in arms when blacks refer to themselves ethnically as African-American. To be honest I don't think it's the best term, but so many of Black American cultural norms have both African and American roots. The subtleties are sometimes hard to recognize, but they are there.
I notice ratchet seems to be a favorite term among non-American. Haha. Who would have thought. I will let you know what I see out their. I may be going downtown to view the firework show. Always some ratchedness there.

@WC
I'm comfortable with either black or African-American. I find them both fitting. I think it's an individual thing. There is so much strange tension between blacks. I have had both Africans and West Indians shun me simply for being American. But I have also met those who were not into such pettiness. I'm the same, I take people on a case by case basis. I don't judge people by their race, ethnicity, or culture, because its not the best gauge of a person.
BTW did enjoy my day yesterday. No unusual Ratchedness to report unfortunately. Haha.
