Can I sue?

Last year I went to the hospital and got diagnosed with two unrelated things, physical and mental. I was prescribed medicine for the physical illness but not the mental one. Not until nearly 4 months later, did I start to get medicine. Because of my deteriorating mental state, I got into some legal trouble. Had I got the medicine I needed. I likely would not have gotten into trouble.

Anuways I want to see if I can sue the hospital/ doctors for not prescribing me anything and causing pain and suffering.

Lawyer is the only one who can answer that!

You can sue for any shit! Will you win - that is the question!

You have to find a lawyer who will only take payment IF he wins the case.

This way you know - they will not bullshit you and will work for free which lawyers don't DO!

If they take your case - sit and wait!

You get money - give them % and go gamble the rest!

Or put down payment on property. Depends how severely damaged your brain is! Hugs. Call lawyers. Dxp isn't a place.

I was just curious what people thought.n I will just do my due diligence finding a lawyer that only gets paid for winning etc. My mom and dad both have lawyers so I will check with them first.

I wasn't prescribed when I was diagnosed. I was prescribed four months later after it got progressely worse. They described me naproxen for my joints but nothing for the mental illness when I was at the hospital.

9 times out of 10 they prescribe you the wrong thing anyways cause NONE of them put the effort forth to properly diagnose people.. They are all just like "well this worked for the last one." I'd love to sue them for constantly misdiagnosing people and making matters worse, but it doesn't work that way. Also it's really hard to sue dr's unfortunately. You'll just throw money away on a lawyer and likely not even win.. and that would just piss ya off even more.

Such an ignorant statement with made up stats. If someone is misdiagnosed it’s usually because mental health is such a complex issue where doctors can only go by what the information is available. It’s still a fairly new area of medicine. They can only learn through trial and error. Sometimes all doctors can do is give medication and hope it works because not enough is known. After that it’s up to the patient to give accurate feed back. And don’t get me started on people who abuse their medication and don’t follow doctors instructions.

My doctor and psychiatrist worked thoroughly and closely with me before they diagnosed me with general anxiety and depression disorder and ADD. They certainly didn’t just throw medication at me willy nilly without putting in effort. To say that NONE put in effort is just ridiculous and just a reflection of your ignorance on the matter of mental health and treatment.

Psychiatrists study mental health.. not Physicians. They are the only ones who should be prescribing meds for mental health issues. It takes counselling to determine what someone has, so Dr's should be recommending that before shoving pills down people's throats so they can accurately assess what will work best. Good for you that you had the help of both, many people do not get that. I am ignorant about the treatment and how it is prescribed.. not mental health itself.. How about ya don't put words in my mouth.

And you do realize that not everyone gets the same health care.. It's different everywhere. Consider that before ya call someone ignorant. You don't realize how privileged you are that you got the help that you needed.. Many do not get that help.

I was in the psychiatric place four like 4 days. No medicine. Yet they diagnosed me with something and it got worse.
