NYAA it's not about being ungrateful... It's about relationships not being able to survive once someone is indebted to the other. Just because they broke up doesnt mean he is ungrateful. It's just a natural consequence in my opinion. Once someone has that kind of power over you it's hard for anything to be equal again. Even if he had stayed I'm sure something would have happened eventually.



Something like that, yes-- though maybe not in all cases; Damnatas friend is an extreme example.

And the "debt" he owed for the "price" she paid is all kinds of twisted (meaning the situation is bizarre.. that's all).

She probably should never have told him, and denied it till the day she died.

Which sounds awful, too.

But it sounds like it was truly a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't.

What was the alternative? Ugh.
