I see people fighting on here and cannot help to think they'd get along well in real life, would go out for some beers and shit.

Or they'd kill each other.

I don't know, it may be my twisted humor but people put way too much stock in their interactions on the boards.

DXP is not real life.
Although I can think of a couple of people here that would go through withdrawal symptoms if DXP were down for any length of time...

Can you imagine us joining AA in real life?

Hi, my name is X and I used to post on DXP 😭 😭 😭

Hi, my name is Y, and I have been DXP free for....Mr. Jones, quit showing me your tablet screen. I have no interest in who is winning an award or who has a string hanging out of their butt...

DXP interactions, just like all person to person interactions, have a bearing on who you and what you do are so long as you are a person.

The interactions that we have here are experiences, and experiences always knead the soul, whether those experiences are big or small hurtful or otherwise is irrelevant.

There is always an impact.

See, I cannot relate with that at all. It's another ballgame when you actually start to talk to people from here on PMs or on chat.

Speaking mainly about the interaction on the boards...nope. It's fun but there's no bearing on me as a person in real life.

@CC I like things that make me really think not something that requires a short answer.

@Rabbit lol I never saw that show because I'm always at work when it comes on.

That particular episode blew my mind. One thing that was discussed really stuck with me...

They've proven that as we age, our perception of time changes. One hour to a child "lasts longer" than an hour to a senior.

If you run, time goes by faster than it does if you stay still. Scientists proved it.

It's fascinating.

So if reality is an illusion that we all invest into, is it any better or worse than others who choose to live in an alternate reality of addiction, internet, drugs, etc?

We are living in the internet reality as we speak, our whole generation.

It will take some years til the effects are entirely known. All I can say...I see young kids with no concept of friendships, social skills. I can only assume some will have no clue about reality when they grow up. Or we'll all download ourselves in virtual reality and they will have the upper hand.

I've seen that last part first hand.
Three boys, all over at one house to play. All three in the same room, each on a computer or IPad, and not talking.
Now how is that "play"?

I don't make a distinction because I don't think there's anything that isn't reality. Thoughts, moods, entities (either physically in front of you or far away)...are all "real".

Everything is real life, I don't see the point in restricting it to compartments and labels...seems like an unnecessary convolution.

So, for me and how I see life/existence, this is all reality (including the conversations and happenings on this site, no matter how dramatized or authentic to the people involved) and I don't change or warp myself to accommodate.

so it's like what? i never have any idea what the hell you're talking about. 😒

Don't feign innocence, bull.

if you don't wanna explain then i won't worry about it.

Well I said smthg, and PVAF said something and then you addressed PVAF only and said "i care about YOU"..emphasizing the "YOU" as it pertains only to PVAF. Not sure how to explain the obvious.

The user who posted this message has hidden it.

This can only apply to Pisces IRL.

You see them wanting to say smthg but their focus immediately drifts and another painting forms before their eyes.

Agree.

But I like to keep in mind that those are real people typing behind their usernames.

See I have no clue about that. I'd like to think there's real people but they could be robots, dragons, even the ocasional koala.

Yeah yeah. Koala.

What I was getting at is that even though I don't consider the netz "real life", I still have some basic human consideration in mind. To some, the internet can have a big effect on real life.
