My sister loves scary movies, so she sometimes forces us to watch with her, i'm excited to get great recommendations that maybe she' hasn't seen yet.

i love movies like Donnie Darko, The shining, stuff like that. Dark and twisted, but not Gory

Tim Burton's take on Sleepy Hollow was great.

Stay away from Saw and Hostel if you don't want any gore.

I aint gone lie Fright Night was the shit. It scared the hell out of me as a kid.
The holloween movies were a good series as well, but I'm more of a Jason person.

Chris Sarandon was perfect as Jerry Dandridge, and Roddy McDowell was also perfect as Peter Vincent.

"I've just destroyed your car, Charlie. But that's nothing compared to what I am going to do to you tomorrow night."

Or that shower scene from the grudge where the hand comes out of her head. For a while I'd take the stinging pain of shampoo in my eyes just so I didn't have to close them ahhhh.

I'm not impressed with scary movies lately. However Hostel did freak me out because it's about the mental state of people. I prefer watching ID Channel shows like My Date From Hell and Nightmare Next Door etc to get the chills. Psychos are real and walk the Earth.

I like to keep things "basic" on Halloween, no fancy psychological stuff, just old-fashioned fun. So Halloween II (the original from 1981) is a yearly tradition. It's the mother of all slashers imo. It's well-made, has some of the neatest slashings and plenty of brooding atmosphere. It takes place during the nightshift at the hospital, and I don't like hospitals so it's already got me there.

It has plenty of "syringe action", for those who feel uncomfortable about that type of stuff. And Dick Warlock, the stunt-man who plays Michael, has effordlessly "captured" the physique and the body-language better than any other performer before or after him. Should have gotten an Oscar for "Best Creep of the Year". As a kid I think I had a weird crush on Micheal, as portrayed in this film! lol

I even have a replica of the mask from this movie somewhere in my basement!!

I lived in New Orleans for 5 years. Every friend's place had some weird crap happen. I do like the fake ones too. So much fun! I think that's what a group of us are doing this weekend. Going haunted house hopping.

Cool.

I used to live in the suburbs outside the city limits after Hurricane Katrina.

The entire general area is HAUNTED because of all the murder and mayhem that has accumulated there for centuries.

Yeah, I like Halloween 1, 2, 4 and 5.

Didn't care for any of the others as much.

4 & 5 are unwatchable. You couldn't pay me to see those again! They've basically made Michael Myers into a cheap Jason-ripoff. And what's with the mask in the later sequals, he looks like an albino tranny!!

Stalker tranny strikes back!

H2 had the best make up, imo. The slightly grey'ish shade of white looks more effective.

H2 also has the best original song
(as improvised by one of the characters):

"Amazing grace
Come sit on my face
Don't make me cry
I need your pie "

😄
