I watched the series a few years ago & thought it was pretty good at the time. Tried watching it last night & couldn't get through one full episode. I got so bored I started skipping through the series to find where I left off, with the hope of it getting better. What's the hype with the show? Read a few reviews people say it build up, but in my opinion, any good series should be good off of the bat.

Also tried to watch 50 cents show power. I cut that short after 1 episode.

Also tried to watch boardwalk empire, no go. Too boring

Just finished watching The Wire.

This show was good from the gate

it was shit from the start, you just bought into the hype.

In GOT every episode is just a bunch of people walking and talking like there's something important about to happen, interspersed with gratuitous violence and bottom tier erotism. But nothing interesting actually ever happens except main characters killed just for shock value.

Maybe I just wasn't ready for it at the time. A lot of people like it, so there must be something about it to appreciate, I guess. But maybe I'm just not into the whole midevil slow rolling thing.

I like Harry Potter though ?

The golden age for GoT was seasons 1-3. After that, the formula used that led up to the red wedding wasn't going to work anymore to keep things interesting.

The formula I speak of was Martin's idea to put an element of reality in a fiction world where heroes die before they can save the day. This was made clear when the hero-bastard John Snow was killed off, and fans had enough of the hopeless cloud of doom over the entire series. Bringing him back was not able to correct the mistake though, unfortunately.

Fans still want to know how things end, so the ratings are still through the roof, and the show still gets a lot of praise. Despite what I've mentioned, there are some phenomenal actors on that show and it is a pleasure to see them work. But all the hype this show built up was like I say, during those first three seasons.

Me too, I'm a big fan of Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings for that matter.

Glad I've never watched it. Thanks for spilling the truth tea. With all this hype it almost got me to watch it.

No actual fairies.

I love fantasy so...and the character development pulls you in. Spoiler: the more you like a character the more likely they are to be killed off ?

lies I say!

how can you call an assassination of a king by a vagina smoke monster....

Boring?!?!?

it's the greatest show on television hands down

spoiler alert-

yes the first few seasons were a bit slow in terms of dialogue and action

but that's because it's all about the slow build up like foreplay

every character every line has a purpose

there are no loose ends

brilliant writing all around

I have never watched a single episode and the reason for it is, because from what I have heard and seen it's too sexual. Seriously if I get distraced with naked women all the time then I just can't focus on any story, movie or series at all. I don't want to see sex in series, period! For the same reason I stopped watching Californication even though I really liked it but it don't want to get horny while watching boobs and butts, I can't deal with that crap. I see too many hot women each day, so when I watch TV, which I usually don't do at all anyway, then I want a STORY to follow.

Isn't Harry Potter just a Hype?! I mean... it's just a teenager playing with his wand. We've all heard that story before. (:

I think some people should really expnd their horizons and realize that there are other books or TV shows.

Although I concede the more recent creations are mostly shit.

Took me a while to get into because I couldn't understand them for one, and the sex scenes used to be especially graphic early on which I found awkward af

I don't think there's really been too many sex scenes like those in the beginning of the series - unless I am just used to them
