And of course he or any other persuasive guy should be held accountable for what goes on in her head?
From where he stands it could might aswell been 'she said no initially bc it seemed inappropriate but warned up to me eventually cuz I'm hot butter and we've been seeing eachother on and off for five years now'.
"He has an intimidating presence" is not the same as being physically detained from leaving the room. I really hate how women are equated to children, and by women too!
Unless she's a child or mentally retarded "felt powerless" is not something to hide behind.

No argument there. Harvey is guilty as sin. There are no redeeming qualities about his conduct. I was however addressing an other issue that kind of pisses me off when it comes to rape accusations these days. It went from one extreme where women were constantly made accountable, to the other extreme where you can consensually fuck a guy for years (to boost your career) and then cry rape bc you suddenly unfroze.
I am not doubting Argento's experience. I am saying tough! but that ain't rape. If you don't know what you want no one else can know it for you!
How many women in here had successful sexual encounters where you didn't intend to sleep with the guy initially, maybe he was even a pain in the ass, but he was persistant and you started getting turned on by the whole thing.
In Harvey's case it was one of many routine procedures of sexual misconduct and abuse of power. BUT, for a lot of guys who'd have found themselves in a similar situation as Asia Argento dedcribed, the lines between rape and a successful Tinder date are pretty fuckig blurred. Even for the girl.. apperantly. Just ask Argento.
Know what you want. Know how far you're willing to go. She wasn't precisely a spring chicken, having grown up in the film industry and knowing what goes on behind the curtains. Not many producers hold interviews privately and in bathrobes. Gimme a fcking break.

So no, not all "rape victims" are actually victims of rape. Some of them are just asshats. Moreso lately than ever before in the history of mankind. It's a validation generation thing, the inability to draw lines. Goes for both men and women.

Actually I didn't even bother reading what Harvey says, he'll say whatever his lawyers say will help his case even if it means pleading guilty. I did however read two interviews with Asia Argento to get her account of what happened.

So many top execs are being suspended now amidst sexual harassment allegations roy price is the latest ..it's hilarious ..like rats from a sinking ship

I'm glad these things are finally being taken this seriously. I remember I was kind of shocked when I heard it in the media, not bc of his actions but that it was made into a big deal. It's one thing when you have someone like Bill Cosby, that's a textbook rapist. But this guy.. you sort of expect this kind of conduct from him. He was operating in a grey zone of sorts (partially bc it's Hollywood) and we're finally calling it by its right name whereas before it'd just fall between the cracks bc hey it's showbiz. Anything goes. It feels like the beginning of something new.
I don't see it changing anytime soon. Maybe i am cynical.

I am from Ireland goth emo is not huge around here. Gender roles are way more conservative /traditional. I think even men here realize now.
And now Björk is accusing von Trier of sexual harassment. A lot of other actors have pulled through a von Trier shoot, male and female. I am sure you and your ego will mend, Björk. 🙄
