I want to say both but really I love the exterior more so than interior
Me too. Kinda weird coz it kind of puts to naught the adage "don't judge the book by its cover." I don't know why most people put premium on the exteriors either.
The concept sounds so backwards though if one is to equate choosing exterior as the same thing as choosing a book by its cover. I look at exterior by design, model the whole structural foundation, I'm hardly just looking at it from the outside-in nor by looks but rather as a whole.

Interior isnt hard nor complex, it's whatever you want it to be.

So you mean the interiors are easier to design?

Both. It makes me tingle when I walk up to a beautifully designed home, walk over the threshold and see the interior is as beautifully designed and decorated. And the exterior and interior should be harmonious, unless someone's design sense is eclectic and they have a retro/modern interior in a 150 y.o. country villa.

But that's why I work in and around the design field.

Exteriors.

But I like surprises. Sometimes the interiors can be surprisingly fascinating compared to their exteriors.
Like a cherry inside a chocolate? Or a hard candy with a surprise center? 🙂

Ever been in one of those warehouse apartments? Thing looks like utter shit on the outside, with grafitti and piss stains everywhere. But once you step in, it's the complete opposite. Practical, minimalist decor, contrasting colours that just flow with the theme. Everything in its place.

THE CREEK - HILLTOP HOUSE by Openbox Company

The overall structural concept was based on very few columns and footings, elevating the house above the pile of stones, leaving most of the stones and existing contours untouched. Base materials were raw concrete surface and cement screed to express the raw “nature” of construction materials, and helped to avoid problems with paint against the high humidity of tropical rain forest surrounding.

This style has always been a dream, one of the reasons i studied architecture for a bit until that dream was destroyed lol

Same. Some people find concrete architecture cold; I could live there and never leave.

That is a KILLER house. It was for a dream house show, and the builder couldn't sell it (it was right when the housing crash happened) and ended up going belly-up. 😢

I don't think I could leave here, unless a financial opportunity that I couldn't refuse came my way. It's too beautiful. I didn't know you moved? But LV probably has a better cost of living that SEA.

Yes, I did the lighting design for the whole house. The designer picked the fixtures with my help, and the contractor gave us carte blanche to do whatever. It was a fun project!

This is one of my favorite shots, because it was technically difficult to do (installation-wise) and it came out so well. The glass between the columns look out onto the deck outside, so from the outside you can see the other wall, which had artwork (and lighting) between those columns.

i was born in the greater seattle area, moved to Vegas 15 years ago... yes cost of living is what brought me here. i stayed due to job.. i would love ot go back or move someplace else that had more nature tbh i miss being so close to water. My soul craves it, especially when i need peace, it soothes me.

That is lovely, very nice work.

It's too dark inside tbh. But I love how it's nestled into the site. Looks like it belongs.

Thanks @justagirl 🙂

Back on topic, THIS is my dream house, inside and out. Modular home, just crane them in and bolt the pieces together. The whole thing can go up in a day.

Very nice.

I love Victorian homes

Cap hill has so many it's a wonder when walking around

But I can do modern too

When I was younger, I wanted to live in SF in one of the "Painted Ladies". I love the detail in Victorian architecture.

But the clean lines of modern architecture is calming to me.
