Introverts can have great social skills it's just they get worn out from socializing too much and need a break. Extroverts are those who thrive around people instead of alone. They may not have great social skills either but just prefer to be around others even if they can't communicate well. Introverts don't automatically have bad social skills nor are they automatically shy.

To me it only seems logical that the generation gap can also be due to the means of communication. I mean younger generation typical communication is social media and texting. So as far as respect is concerned, its easier to forget their is another person on the other end of your negative comments. Where as in person both individuals will be able to relate to each other more on a identifiable level, and more apt to show respect.
+1 Given the recent sad news on dxp and the unecessary drama that followed. Its a shame individuals didn't take this to heart. Because there would have been a lot less heart ache. Maybe we can still grow from this situation though. Because when it was said, it was said in terms of the trends, I see on dxp net. It's unfortunate the message went unheeded. 😢

I think every generation has their pluses and minuses. Each generation grows up with different influences (industrialization in the 1900s', financial crash in the 1920's, war and post-war in the 1940's and so on). Moreover, cultural influences can also come into play whereby people of the same generation growing up in different places can have very different life experiences and outlooks.
IMO, elders shouldn't judge young people based on their generational standards and vice versa.
Respect is earned and not necessarily based on age. It is merited based on thoughts, actions, and words combined. Older people who wish to have respect should set a good example and youth who want to be respected should show the maturity and understanding that goes along with it.

If you can't, then its only a personal attack, which is the first sign of a failed argument.

It seems anyone who disagrees with you gets broadcasted directly or indirectly. So, let's see. You like to take the victim stance but you can still see where you're wrong.

I'm not trying to censor anybody, if individuals don't like a thread, change the channel. If you don't like somebodies comment, block them or don't read it. Just don't be hateful to others, and want to stifle others freedom of speech. I don't wish to see anybody banned. The only time, I have a problem with free speech is if it stifles mine. Sounds fair enough to me.
