Living in a Post Apopalyptic World... (Page 2)

I watched a documentary a few years ago about this family. There was a disease outbreak leading to the collapse of civilization. The husband was a paramedic. They lived in a suburb of LA. In the beginning they stayed home. Then all systems broke down because people weren't going to work. No water. No electricity, etc. They staged their house to look like it had already been ramsacked. Then they decided to leave and head to a better area. They met road warriors on the road and had to leave their vehicle. One guy was shot and they helped him. He took them to their community, but they didn't like it. So they left again. They trecked through the desert, desperate for food and water. Ate a snake. Eventually, they made it to a farming community and were happy. He got a scratch from a thorn and died of sepsis.

I wish I knew what it was called because it was an awesome show about a family dealing with this scenario. Very realistic and very interesting. Very enlightening as well.

Anyway, if you come across it, I'd suggest you watch it. It was on the Discovery channel or Nat Geographic channel.

It's kind of funny. Antagonistic bloodthirsty bandits, seem similar to life today.

Again it makes me question if life itself and all that is living is nothing more then a never ending apoloclipse.

This whole time we thought we were living new lives, but life is constantly repeating itself. Maybe more intense at times, but still within the same realm.

All I've seen through life is evil, and the evil only gets worse. How is this any different then the description of Hell? How do I know life is nothing more then a punishment?

It's not a question of whether the land is avaible...it's a question of whether the land is usable.

Gone are the herds of buffalo, the flocks of waterfowl, the shoals of fish, etc.

Hell, a lot if not most of the native plants usuable for food and medicine have been wiped out by invasives, farming, and forestry.

There may be pockets here and there, but not enough to sustain anyone for any length of time. Given a decade or two, the land would regenerate. But that's not until AFTER humans have all kicked the bucket.

If it's nuclear war, then none of it would be usable.

What scenario do yall think is most likely?

I think a disease outbreak is pretty realistic.

And yeah, history repeats itself, just on different scales and time eras.

Yup. Just BOOM!

If your lucky you may hear an echo of the explosion coming your way.

If it hits the ocean it wouldnt matter where you lived. You'd be driving to work and straight ahead miles away you'd see a thousand foot wave coming your way.

Yeah, that's a possibility too.

I'd start a family of inbreds and we'd roam the countryside, cannibalizing those who cross our path. Since we're a family we wouldn't turn on eachother. The women we come across would be spared, they'd be impregnated to ensure the survival and the growth of the clan and they'd be taken care of (food, shelter) so there'd be no reason for mutiny. We'd also breed hunting dogs! So all you loners out there, look over your shoulders. Cancer Venus with the brood coming for ya'! ^^ Feels like pulled "pork" night tonight. mmmmmm

Luckily we have the sun and Jupiter saving us all these years, but the chance is still there.

I do know of people these days, and can tell they will be the reason the Internet stops being open to the public.

Woops, I pulled the Internet plug and now only the world leaders/military can use it. Just like it was originally designed to be used for.

The truth seems to be catching on at this point in the post. That there are many threats that face the world today. Be it the ever increasing rate of solar flares that threaten the worlds crippling dependence on electricity, the exponential rate of disease mutation do to human influence via over vaccination, or the continued rot of the species ability to coexist.

One thing is certain, the strong will thrive. The weak will perish. I'll see you at the top of the mountain of ash and bone.

We as humans have come too far just to completly perish.

We started in caves (so they say) and made our ways to houses.

Never quit asking yourself what's next? If you give up all will be lost, and the foundation past generations have made will be lost in vain.

Keep progressing, never start declining. Who knows, maybe future humans will drive flying cars that run on air, and will live in homes that perpetually float in the sky. The ground will return to nature, and we will bring life to the moon, Venus, and Mars.

Recently in WV a man working in a pharmacy with a conceded gun permit shot and killed a man who walked in then attempted to rob the place with a gun of his own.

You see the white male with a hoody walk in looking suspicious, then he pulled a gun. Within seconds the pharmacists pulled out his gun and shot the suspect, then the robber attempted to run and the pharmacist chased him down and shot him again.

Afterwards the state of WV passed a law allowing anyone without a criminal record or felony to legally carry and conceal a gun without a permit.

A couple of years ago, there was a guy went nut crazy on the front steps of the courthouse, started shoooting people. I think one or two people died. He was going through a divorce and the subject was his soon to be ex wife, but he was shooting randomly, if I remember correctly. A concealed handgun owner took him out, saving the lives of multiple people. He was considered a hero.

It happened many times before and certainly it will happen again. It is called life, evolution, and??_ perhaps sort of upgrading to more capable species under what ever name.

That reminds me of the show The 100. Where they went back to earth 100 years after a what I assumed was a nuclear war. They showed the life that was left as more evolved, some with mutations.

Reading Mahabharata and understand it correctly, clearly shows the ancient human??s technologies was —way advanced —than what we are proud of it today with our lousy technologies.

I am talking about something around 10-15000 years ago, add at least 200000 years for the developing technologies then we??ll have an amazing survival skills (inbuilt)??_!

The fall of Ancient Rome, the fall of the Third Reich , and the fall of many great empires has been an apocalyptic experience like TrueCap states in the OP.

Sure people can bomb the shit out of eachother, or technology can enslave us, but that just starts the new cycle of a "new world order"

Another dark ages, and a great empire will rise in the ruins for several hundred years, before it too burns.

When Odin returns, the world will truly end as we have known it.

We originally came from the 4th dimension, so in this 3rd dimension we are seeing now an original 4D human would look like floating flesh.

The would also have the ability to see a 3d humans all at once in its entirety. That means you could have a brain tumor and a 4D human could reach in an pull it out without touching the brain. They would be considered Gods, and we originally came from them.

It would be kind of fun. At least you get to see somthing extreamly insane before you die. Better then going to sleep and never waking up in my opinion.

Like I said we luckily have Jupiter and the sun to keep things like this from happening. Sure there is still a chance, but it's super small.

You have more of a chance of dieing in a car crash then experiencing a catastrophic meteor in your lifetime.
