Depends — there is a reason the civilization is dying, from patterns and ways of living that now apparently is destructive. I would strive to save the civilization so that it could be renewed, not to keep the old structure I would gladly let that die. But I would never —sit and enjoy the decline?? I believe death is necessary and a beautiful part of life, but destruction that is meaningless and does not sustain life is not what I stand for. (I am for humanity surviving, but we have to change, drastically)
optimist, being a pessimist is meaningless- it only hinders your joy of life
Yes I do. The reason I live is for joy and passion, I don't know why but it's reason enough for me to stay here. But I also believe there is some sort of —higher?? goal. For learning — The universe wants to know what it is so are therefore exploring every possibility of —isness?? which is why life exist.
Vegan tacos and vegan peanut butter chocolate 😛
I am slightly disturbed of how many of you want humanity too die. It's good that you see how ignorant and destructive we are, shows some enlightenment, most people aren't even aware of that.
But isn't the beauty and the quest about turning this deceiving rotten mess into something amazing?

Jaded and passive. Such is the life of a broken human soul.
I can't walk down that path since I despite being passive when you could be active or proactive!
Working to build a new society to replace the old broken one can't be done if nobody believes in saving humanity.

We're all broken, maybe that's how it's supposed to be.
Submitting to the harshness of mother nature and cruelty of father . Stantime is not the attitude that has gotten humans to the top.
So what if deep down every human is a primal ammoal beast ruled by pragmatic stratagems and list for resources and offspring?
So what if death happens. If we're cursed to live in an afterlife, hell, reincarnate or even if we vanish like a star in the sky.
Why accept bondage into a bitter life of despair and pain? What worse pains can rebellion against all that stands in our way to improving the world we inherited? Failure? Struggle? Ha.
Might just be me, but I refuse to passively submit to the harsh cruel reality before me. I will rebel against it with every last ounce of life. For my selfish desires, my selfless desire to ease the pains of those that have come before me, stand with me and will come after me!
Dying on my own two feet is much more preferable to me then dying on my knees!
Do you think people should strive to save a dying civilization or let it decay, decline and rot and just enjoy the decline?
I think people should try and save other people--
civilization is secondary, really... a by-product.
If this site had influence over anyone, do you think it would make them a better person or worse?
Like someone already said-- depends on the person.
Are you an optimist or pessimist?
Optimist
Do you see any point in existence?
Hmm... just because I don't see it doesn't mean there
isn't one.
Finally, what is your favorite snack?

1) I think communities in general would do best to stay out of each other's business.
2) Perception rules.
3) Realist, slight tendency to optimism.
4) Since I'm still alive, probably yes.
5) Sandwiches.
Gosh, I was really trying to think of some clever or unique answers to your questions... Which were all pretty thought provoking too!
And I feel like if I think too hard about it the further I get from making sense...
So, really all I can do is think about my fave snack.
Grilled cheese sammich, or Vegemite toast, or soft boiled egg on smoked salmon with avocado, or cold grapes, or cashews, cookies, burger rings, donuts, corn chips, sesame snaps, bananas, cupcakes, chorizo, nutella, chia pudding, ice cream, aaaaaaaaannnd oatmeal.
You know, at the end of the day I'd like to know exactly how we define civilisation and when and where do you draw the line, or pinpoint the exact moment it begins to decline...
Because my race is now about 3% of the overall Australian population, it took just under 300 years(?) or so for that to happen. And we were the only guys down here for 40,000-60,000 years.
So what's the text book definition for that... I'd like to hear it.
Yes, indigenous Australian- aboriginal...
In terms of questioning about my minority, nothing so much as personally identifying with a 'civilisation' or way of life that is currently declining.
Declined, eradicated, disappearing, decaying, perished.
Along with many others around the world of course- Its not an exclusive situation Down Under or anything...
There is no history of interest, the stories are gone,
so realistically speaking, the initial OP was do we save or preserve a dying civilisation or somewhat along those lines yes?
And I think my answer is, when the time has come, for a people or their culture to end- there isn't much we can do about it.
And generally speaking no one will ever raise a finger otherwise.
Such is the course of human existence and its developements.
Oh, the apologists and the bleeding heart intellectuals will pontificate sure, they'll launch studies and wax lyrical about reconnecting lines of communication, bridging gaps and maintaining
Relationships with 'First Nations' or 'Cultural Custodians' etc
But... But, but, but indeed... The heart becomes hardened after some time I think.

A1: Perhaps it's best to let it run its course as a dying civilization due to decay is better left to perish. However, I believe animals are worth saving and minority civilizations whose reason for declination is violence and greed of stronger civilizations.
A2: I think the site, while providing the minor positive of exchanging ideas and communicating with people, has more negative to offer than positive. But it's what the person makes of it, I suppose.
A3: I used to be an optimist to the moon and back! I'm not so innocent amy more. Life experience has changed me, and I think I am more realistic, logical, and a tad sardonic.
A4: I absolutely see a point in existence: to worship God, serve Him, and to try to do things that please Him (which, conveniently, are also great for the planet and humankind.) But to put too much stock on this momentary existence here on earth is where things fall apart. Plus, life has red pandas!
A5: I always crave potato chips, French fries, skittles, or chewy Lemonheads! But I also love pineapples, spinach and tomato sandwiches, and pickles.

Because HE is.

If the dying civilization is doing any good its better to save them. If all they can do is cause havoc, its better they perish rather than bring more misery to this world.
If this site had influence over anyone, do you think it would make them a better person or worse?
It depends on the person, everyone's outlook is different.
Are you an optimist or pessimist?

Do you think people should strive to save a dying civilization or let it decay, decline and rot and just enjoy the decline? If a civilization is dying it can no longer serve its purpose as it is, and it can't evolve than let it rot.If this site had influence over anyone, do you think it would make them a better person or worse? Neither, it can continue to influence you to be a worse person or a better person, which ever path you were already on.Are you an optimist or pessimist?
