Honestly I dunno, unless it's either ingrained in the person via family and upbringing, most take it as it comes. I can't really talk on it as I'm miquetoast white but by and large I haven't found many whether long term or passing relationships that see it as a crux or debilitation.

Reminds me of Mr.Defense dilemma.

Africa is predominantly black, so what do you expect the blacks that live there to be called? And its not true that none black Africans arent considered Africans, they are, but when it comes official matters ie. filling some forms, a black person ticks next to African. We didnt come up with that.

I have to check off two boxes.

A white man born in South Africa, who's heritage dates back to the settlers. Is he an African?
And if he and his wife move to the US and they have children and grandchildren born in the US.
Are they called African American even though they are WHITE?

Everybody is African here & yes that includes the Boers. They even call themselves, Afrikaaners, which basically means "Africans" in Dutch (their version of Dutch). I don't know about what they'd be called in the U.S though, America has a whole different system about almost everything. Why did you have to tick two boxes? I thought you were Indian.
