And quite honestly, I haven't seen a division in this country like we have now in my LIFE. And I do directly attribute it to the leader we have right now in the WH, and the "engagement" of the left to push social order to the brink, in an effort to destroy the foundation of our country and rebuild it into something else. And it's not going to be the utopian dreamland you wish it would be. My dad came from one of those utopias and I can tell you, it's an illusion. It has been marching in that direction since the 40's, and has ramped up exponentially in the last 15 years. That may be something you would like to see, but I think you should be very careful what you wish for.

I think if you REALLY spent time listening and talking to them, you'd discover that these supporters aren't in the minority. And that Hillary/Obama has offered nothing other than what we're angry about, along with division (us/them based in social class, race, income, gender/s). That type of anger manifested in 2010 with the Tea Party movement, and with the collusion of members of both parties and various agencies like the IRS was tamped down.
Anger at promises by one party to repeal the ACA (which has not made health care more affordable or more available) while the same party continues to fund the ACA via continuing resolutions.
Anger at crimes committed by high officials that would get the average Joe a prison sentence while said officials walk free and continue to engage in criminal acts.
Anger at being mocked by self- style d elites who live in a bubble, who continue policies that enrich their "club" at the expense of the greater public.
I could continue to list what is driving it, but at least that anger is being channeled constructively by supporting someone who may actually act to change the status quo. The alternative caused Marie Antoinette to lose her head.
'Nuff said.
I think if you REALLY spent time listening and talking to them, you'd discover that these supporters aren't in the minority. And that Hillary/Obama has offered nothing other than what we're angry about, along with division (us/them based in social class, race, income, gender/s). They don't see people, they see soldiers for a cause, their cause, and votes. I seriously request that you look behind the curtain at your leaders and what they want to accomplish.

Well I'm glad that he was able to explain it in a way that makes sense to you.
Most regular Americans aren't politically astute; they just know when things aren't right. Trying to figure out what the core issues are isn't easy unless you've been paying attention. Most people are just trying to keep their heads above water and provide for their families. They wake up every 4 years and then have to come up with some kind of cogent argument for one side or the other.
I'm sure that CotC or myself would be happy to engage in real political discussion with someone open-minded, even if we still disagree at the end of it all.
But honestly, everything comes down to differences in political philosophy and not about identity politics. Most people aren't interested in that and so we make it about hate, racism, elitism, emotion, and any number of useless distractions. It's why I don't generally like getting involved in political discussions.

And quite honestly, I haven't seen a division in this country like we have now in my LIFE. And I do directly attribute it to the leader we have right now in the WH, and the "engagement" of the left to push social order to the brink, in an effort to destroy the foundation of our country and rebuild it into something else. And it's not going to be the utopian dreamland you wish it would be. My dad came from one of those utopias and I can tell you, it's an illusion. It has been marching in that direction since the 40's, and has ramped up exponentially in the last 15 years. That may be something you would like to see, but I think you should be very careful what you wish for.
One of us is going to be disappointed in November. And I don't think this is an ordinary election. Not because of who is running, but because the stakes ARE high.
